Danbury, Conn. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team traveled to non-conference opponent Western Connecticut State on Monday evening and earned a 9-0 victory. 

In doubles competition, the #1 FSC (7-5) pairing of seniors Mark Baker (Baldwin, N.Y.) and Cooper Everett (Long Beach, N.Y.) cruised to an 8-0 shutout over sophomore Kevin Tenesaca (Danbury, Conn.) and senior Jay Kilcourse (New Fairfield, Conn.).

Farmingdale State senior Mario Contreras (Southold, N.Y.) and freshman Dylan Poblete-Infante (East Northport, N.Y.) picked up an 8-2 decision at #3 doubles before sophomore Alan Sabovic (Bohemia, N.Y.) and freshman Vincent Manzi (Massapequa, N.Y.) won, 8-5, in the second slot against junior Jerry Narcisse (Norwalk, Conn.) and freshman Nicholas Peschier (Bridgeport, Conn.).

At first singles, Baker earned a 6-0, 6-0 win versus Tenesaca in the first position, while Sabovic captured second singles, 6-0, 6-2, over Kilcourse.

Rams' sophomore Ethan Cintron (Bayside, N.Y.) earned a 6-1, 6-3 win in the third singles match and Everett took the #4 position against Peschier, 6-2, 6-1.

After Manzi (6-2, 6-0) won in the fifth slot, Farmingdale State clinched the shutout with a 7-6 (7-1), 6-1 decision by Contreras in the #6 match.

The FSC men's tennis team will next travel to play Brooklyn College on Tuesday, April 26th at 4:30 p.m. (weather permitting).
