Purchase, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team earned a 9-0 shutout win over conference opponent Sarah Lawrence this afternoon. With the victory, FSC improved to 3-2 in the Skyline and 4-5 overall.
In doubles play, sophomore Alan Sabovic (Bohemia, N.Y.) and freshman Vincent Manzi (Massapequa, N.Y.) recorded an 8-0 win in the #1 position. At second doubles, seniors Michael Josefak (Oakdale, N.Y.) and Matthew Olkhovetsky (Great Neck, N.Y.) notched an 8-1 win, while the third pairing of junior Michael Baranowski (South Huntington, N.Y.) and sophomore Ethan Cintron (Bayside, N.Y.) earned an 8-0 victory.
In singles, Manzi, Olkhovetsky, Josefak and sophomore Gabriel Durkin (North Babylon, N.Y.) picked up 6-0, 6-0 shutout wins in the third through sixth slots.
At first singles, Sabovic earned a 6-0, 6-0 decision, while Cintron captured the #2 singles match, 6-1, 6-1.
The Rams will next host Mount Saint Mary College for a conference match on Tuesday, April 19th at 4:30 p.m.
