Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team hosted Yeshiva University this afternoon for their final regular season match and earned a 6-3 victory. The Rams improved to 4-1 on the year and have clinched the #2 seed for the upcoming Skyline Conference Championship.
FSC earned 2-of-3 points in doubles play. In the #1 slot, the pairing of senior Zachary Baker (Carmel, N.Y.) and sophomore Mark Baker (North Baldwin, N.Y.) notched an 8-3 win, while sophomore Matthew Waterhouse (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) and freshman Alan Sabovic (Bohemia, N.Y.) teamed for an 8-2 victory in the second position.
The Rams claimed 4-of-6 points in singles competition as Z. Baker (#1 - 6-1, 6-0), M. Baker (#2 - 6-1, 6-1), Sabovic (#3 - 4-6, 6-4, 10-8) and junior Cooper Everett (Long Beach, N.Y.) (#6 - 6-1, 6-2) all posted wins.
Farmingdale State will now host the Skyline Conference Semifinals on Thursday, May 6th. Their opponent and match time are TBA.
