Farmingdale State - 9, Sarah Lawrence - 0


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team earned a 9-0 shutout victory over Skyline Conference opponent Sarah Lawrence this afternoon in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams improved to 2-0 on the year, while the Gryphons fell to 1-2.

At first doubles, FSC senior Zachary Baker (Carmel, N.Y.) and sophomore Mark Baker (North Baldwin, N.Y.) paired up for an 8-0 win over SLC's Francesco Lagioia (Rome, Italy) and Samu Gabor (Budapest, Hungary). In the second slot, Rams' freshman Alan Sabovic (Bohemia, N.Y.) and sophomore Mario Contreras (Southold, N.Y.) also notched an 8-0 victory against Henrik Nielson (Chicago, Ill.) and Mustapha Evison (Huntingtown, Md.). Farmingdale State recorded their final point with a forfeit win at third doubles.

In singles competition, Z. Baker (6-1, 6-0), M. Baker (6-0, 6-0), junior Cooper Everett (Long Beach, N.Y.) (6-0, 6-0) and junior Michael Josefak (Oakdale, N.Y.) (6-0, 6-0) earned victories in the first through fourth positions, respectively. FSC won the #5 and #6 matches via forfeit.

FSC next will travel to Mount Saint Mary for a Skyline Conference match on Tuesday, April 20th.
