Rams Close Out Regular Season With Shutout of SLC

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team hosted Sarah Lawrence this afternoon for a Skyline Conference match and picked up a 9-0 shutout victory.

In doubles play, FSC's (10-2, 6-1) Mark Baker (North Baldwin, N.Y.) and Steven Gaudio (Miller Place, N.Y.) recorded an 8-0 win in the #1 position. At second doubles, the pairing of Daniel Kafka (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) and Malik Bass (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) notched an 8-5 win, while Chris Molchan (Mattituck, N.Y.) and Bradley Maslak (Middle Island, N.Y.) earned an 8-2 victory in the #3 slot.

In singles, Baker (8-1), Gaudio (8-5), Kafka (8-5), Bass (8-2), Maslak (8-0) and Colby Rodriguez (Huntington Station, N.Y.) (8-0) each picked up wins in the first through sixth positions, respectively.

The Rams and Gryphons squared off in a second match later in the day and Farmingdale State earned a 6-3 victory.

FSC has claimed the second seed for the Skyline Conference Men's Tennis Championship. The Rams will host #3 Purchase (10-2, 5-2 Skyline) in the Semifinals on Wednesday, May 1st at 4:30 p.m.
