Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team hosted Skyline opponent St. Joseph's-Brooklyn this afternoon on senior day and earned a 9-0 shutout victory. With the win, the Rams improved to 9-2 on the year and 5-1 in conference play.
Prior to the start of today's match, Chris Molchan (Mattituck, N.Y.), Elijah McCall (West Babylon, N.Y.), Bradley Maslak (Middle Island, N.Y.) and Daniel Kafka (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) were each honored for senior day.
In doubles competition, FSC's Mark Baker (North Baldwin, N.Y.) and Malik Bass (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) recorded an 8-1 win in the #1 position, while Kafka and Steven Gaudio (Miller Place, N.Y.) registered an 8-0 victory in the second slot. At third doubles, Maslak and Molchan picked up an 8-0 win for the Rams.
In singles, Baker (6-0, 6-0), Kafka (6-0, 6-0), Maslak (6-1, 6-0), McCall (6-4, 6-4), Molchan (6-0, 6-0) and Victor Benjovsky (Albion, N.Y.) all carded victories en route to the 9-0 win.
The FSC men's tennis team next will host Rutgers-Newark in a non-conference match on Friday, April 26th at 4:30 p.m.
