Purchase, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team earned their sixth straight victory with a 6-3 Skyline win at Purchase this afternoon. The Rams improved to 6-2 on the season and 3-1 in conference play, while the Panthers dropped to 6-2, 3-2.
FSC picked up wins at both #1 and #2 doubles as freshman Mark Baker (North Baldwin, N.Y.) and sophomore Steven Gaudio (Miller Place, N.Y.) took an 8-3 decision in the first position before senior Daniel Kafka (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) and freshman Malik Bass (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) won 8-4 in the second slot.
Farmingdale State led 2-1 heading into singles play and used wins from Baker (6-1, 6-1), Kafka (via retirement), Bass (6-2, 3-6, 6-4), and sophomore Chris Molchan (Mattituck, N.Y.) (6-3, 6-3) to earn four-of-the-six points en route to the 6-3 victory.
The FSC men's tennis team next travels to conference opponent Mount Saint Mary on Tuesday, April 16th at 6:00 p.m.
