Farmingdale State - 7, St. Joseph's-L.I. - 2
Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team swept all six singles matches en route to a 7-2 victory on Friday afternoon over St. Joe's-L.I. With the win, the Rams improved to 7-8 overall, 3-3 in conference play. The Golden Eagles dropped to 3-6, 2-5.
St. Joe's held a 2-1 advantage after double play, with an 8-3 win at 2nd doubles and 8-6 win at 3rd doubles. Farmingdale State sophomores Zachary Baker (Carmel, N.Y.) and Bradley Maslak (Middle Island, N.Y.) shutout St. Joe's sophomore Peter Rasmussen (Shirley, N.Y.) and junior Tyler Yaskanich (Shoreham, N.Y.), 8-0, in the #1 doubles match.
In the Rams' six singles wins, sophomores Josh Kaplan (Greenlawn, N.Y.) and James Roth (Massapequa, N.Y.) both posted 6-0, 6-0 shutouts, as the team took the conference win.
Farmingdale State will now face Mount Saint Mary on Saturday, April 29th at 12:00 p.m.
