
#3 Farmingdale State - 5, #2 Mount Saint Mary - 3
New Windsor, N.Y. - The third-seeded FSC men's tennis team defeated #2 Mount Saint Mary, 5-3, in the Skyline Conference Semifinals on Wednesday night. The Rams will now face Yeshiva in the Skyline Finals on Sunday.
In doubles competition, Farmingdale State earned 2-of-3 points. At the #2 position, the pair of Kevin Palacios (Glen Cove, N.Y.) and Joseph Drago (Bronx, N.Y.) tallied an 8-6 win, while Marvin Beaubrun (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and Dan Baruch (East Meadow, N.Y.) also recorded an 8-6 victory in the third slot.
In singles, Daniel Kafka (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) won 6-4, 6-3 in the third position, while Baruch (6-4, 7-5) earned a point for the Rams at #4. In fifth singles, Beaubrun carded a 6-3, 6-3 win as FSC earned the semifinal victory.
Farmingdale State will now square off against #1 Yeshiva in the Skyline Finals on Sunday, May 8th at 2:00 p.m. at Queens College.
