Rams to Face Marywood at NCAA Regionals

Indianapolis, Ind. - The NCAA Division III men's tennis tournament field has been announced and Farmingdale State, after winning their first-ever Skyline Championship and claiming the Conference's automatic bid, will head to Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts for first round action Friday May 13th.

The Rams will face Marywood University (14-3), who received the Colonial States Athletic Conference's automatic bid. The winner will advance to meet host Williams (14-7) on Saturday, May 14th. The winner of that match would play the winner of the other second round game between Johns Hopkins (18-3) and Vassar (10-10) on May 15. The winner of that game will make a trip to Claremont, California for the DIII Championship Rounds.

Farmingdale State (12-2) set a school-record for wins in a season this year and had their top three players named All-Conference, including Skyline Rookie of the Year, freshman Christian Bormann (Huntington, N.Y.). Bormann holds a current 9-5 mark at #1 singles, while 1st doubles teammate senior Joe Passarella (Flushing, N.Y.) is 10-4 at #2 singles. The pair hold an 11-3 record in doubles play. Sophomore Alex Bessarabov (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) is 11-2 so far this season, and was ast year's Skyline Rookie of the Year.

Head Coach Adam Waterhouse has guided the Rams to their first-ever Tournament appearance in just their fourth season as a Varsity program. He holds a career coaching record of 34-17 and was named the Skyline Coach of the Year for the second time in his career.
