Three Men's Tennis Players with All-Conference Recognition

- Bessarabov Rookie of the Year, Passarella and Genzmann Named All-Conference -

Clifton Park, N.Y. - Farmingdale State College freshman Alex Bessarabov (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) earned Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year and First Team honors in men’s tennis, while junior Joe Passarella (Flushing, N.Y./Holy Cross) was also named to the First Team and junior Chris Genzmann (Massapequa, N.Y./Farmingdale) was named Second Team.

Bessarabov went 8-4 at second singles for the Rams and also teamed with junior Chris Genzmann for a 9-3 record in doubles play (8-3 at second doubles). In Skyline Conference regular-season play, Bessarabov went 6-1 with his only loss coming to St. Joseph’s junior Erik Forsythe. He also stepped up to first singles against Mount Saint Mary and prevailed in straight sets. In doubles play, Bessarabov and Genzmann also went 7-1 in Skyline play, including one win at first doubles.

Passarella, the 2008 Skyline Rookie of Year and now a 3-Time All-Conference player, earned five wins at number one singles this year. He also teamed with sophomore Theo Gioles as they posted a 7-5 record at first doubles.

Junior Chris Genzmann, who picks up his first post-season award as a Second Team selection, went 8-3 overall at number four singles, finishing 9-3 with Bessarabov at a team-best 9-3 record in doubles.
