Skyline Releases Men's Tennis Report #2
- Joe Passarella Named Player of the Week, Bessarabov named to
Honor Roll -
Clifton Park, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the second Men's Tennis report for the 2010 season on Monday, March 22nd, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.
Junior Joe Passarella (Flushing, N.Y./Holy Cross) was named the Skyline Player of the Week after going unbeaten at both first doubles and first singles as the Rams opened their season with wins over City Tech and Sage. Against City Tech, Passarella teamed with Theo Gioles for an 8-1 win at first doubles. He then prevailed 6-1, 6-1 at first singles. In the Sage match, Passarella did not drop a game in either singles of doubles action, winning 8-0 in doubles with Gioles before cruising to a 6-0, 6-0 singles victory.
Freshman Alex Bessarabov (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. Bessarabov went undefeated at 2nd singles, posting 6-0, 6-0 wins vs. City Tech and Sage. At 2nd doubles with teammate Chris Genzmann, they posted 8-0 wins vs. both teams to help the Rams to a 2-0 start, 1-0 in the Skyline.
