2010 Men's Tennis Season Preview
- Farmingdale State opens season at Lehman on March 13th -
Farmingdale, N.Y. - The men's tennis team looks
for continued success this season after finishing 9-3 and advancing
to the Skyline Conference Championship. The Rams are returning the
core of their team and will open up at Lehman College on Saturday,
March 13th at 1:00 p.m.
Junior Joe Passarella (Flushing, N.Y.) is coming off a season in
which he posted a 6-4 record in first singles and went 7-4 in first
doubles. Passarella was named First Team All-Skyline his sophomore
year and was Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year as a
freshman.
The Rams look for major contributions from junior Christopher
Genzmann (Massapequa, N.Y.) who holds a 16-8 career singles record
and is coming off an impressive 10-2 year at fourth singles. He
finished 2009 with a 9-3 doubles record, including 5-1 in
Conference doubles.
Sophomore Corey Bentivegna (Deer Park, N.Y.) is coming off a rookie debut in which he posted a 4-1 record at third doubles. Senior Bill Jimenez (West Islip, N.Y.) was 6-4 at #5 and #6 singles last year and Joe Hotzak (St. James, N.Y.) will also be playing his final year as a member of the Rams.
Freshmen John Ramo (North Babylon, N.Y.) and Adrian Summerlin
(Riverhead, N.Y.) will be joining Farmingdale State this
season.
