Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team scored three goals in the second half to take a 3-0 victory over non-conference opponent Brooklyn College today in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams now hold a 3-8 overall record, while the Bulldogs stand at 2-5-1 overall.

In a scoreless first half, the Rams held a 9-2 shot advantage with two saves by Brooklyn goalkeeper Stamatis Boundouris.

The second half called for three Farmingdale State goals. After a Brooklyn yellow card in the 54th minute, sophomore midfielder Brian Anderson (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) sent a free kick from the top of the box into the lower left corner for the 1-0 Rams advantage. Senior midfielder Alex Mendolia* (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown East) scored the second goal of the day off a pass from freshman forward Dennis Sfoglia (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) with twenty minutes remaining.

The final tally of the day was scored at 73:32 by freshman defender Joe Lipsky (Plainview, N.Y./Plainview-Old Bethpage), assisted by junior forward Tyler Balzer (Huntington, N.Y./Huntington) on a cross in front.

Farmingdale State will now host Purchase College on Wednesday, September 29th in a Skyline Conference game at 4:00 p.m.
