FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The FSC men's lacrosse team hosted Skyline Conference opponent Merchant Marine on Saturday afternoon for the Second Annual Legends Game and fell, 15-8. Farmingdale State senior attacker Jake Wandle (Rocky Point, N.Y.) set the all-time points record with his second-quarter goal on Saturday, breaking the previous mark of 186 held by Joe Meola since 2008.

Prior to today's matchup, FSC and USMMA teamed with the Long Island Metro Lacrosse Foundation to honor eight lacrosse legends from the metro area, Richie Moran, Ron LaValle, Mike Bowler, Dennis Rogers, Arthur Allen, Jim Howell, Scott Huff, and Eric Sopracasa.

The Mariners (4-6, 1-1 Skyline) controlled play in the first 15 minutes, jumping out to a 3-1 advantage heading into the second quarter.

Wandle opened the second with his record-setting goal, off the feed from senior attack Rob Varello (Smithtown, N.Y.), to cut the deficit to 3-2.

Junior midfielder Kyle Kolano (Babylon, N.Y.) followed with a goal from junior attack Thomas Stock (Selden, N.Y.) to knot the game at 3-3.

Merchant Marine closed the half with two goals in the final 1:04 as they took a 5-3 edge into the halftime break.

The Rams (9-2, 0-1 Skyline) opened the third quarter with an unassisted goal from senior midfielder Johnny McMahon (Albertson, N.Y.) only 48 seconds in to make it a 5-4 game.

Still leading by one, 6-5, with 10 minutes to play in the third, USMMA scored five consecutive goals to open up a commanding 11-5 advantage.

Farmingdale State used a goal from senior midfielder Jack Gilbride (East Moriches, N.Y.) at the end of the third and an early fourth-quarter goal by Stock to cut their deficit to 11-7, but the Mariners quickly responded with a pair of goals of their own to go ahead by six.

Merchant Marine held the Rams to just one goal in the final eight minutes as they went on for the 15-8 victory.

Stock registered a team-high three goals and one assist for four points. McMahon tallied two points, four ground balls and two caused turnovers, while sophomore midfielder Steven DiCarlo (Farmingdale, N.Y.) finished with one goal and one assist. Kolano, Wandle and Gilbride added one goal apiece.

Junior Antonio Kaminskey (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) won 18-of-27 faceoffs and picked up a game-high 11 ground balls, while sophomore defender Christian Lembo (Farmingdale, N.Y.) totaled six ground balls.
