DAVENPORT, FL | The Farmingdale State men's lacrosse team defeated Eastern Connecticut State University, 17-0, on Thursday afternoon and recorded the second shutout in program history. FSC sophomore goalkeepers Dan Erler (Smithtown, N.Y.) (W, 5-1, 6 saves) and Nick Rizzuto (Bohemia, N.Y.) (3 saves) combined to stop all nine Warriors shots on goal, while sophomore captain Christian Lembo (Farmingdale, N.Y.) controlled the defense with a career-high seven caused turnovers and six ground balls. The one previous shutout occurred on April 24th, 2010, when FSC defeated Bard College, 26-0.

Farmingdale State dominated the first quarter, scoring seven goals in just over 10 minutes. Senior attack Jake Wandle (Rocky Point, N.Y.) netted the first two goals, including the 100th of his career at FSC, before junior midfielder Kyle Kolano (Babylon, N.Y.) registered an unassisted score.

Senior midfielder Jack Gilbride (East Moriches, N.Y.) scored twice, while junior attack Thomas Stock (Selden, N.Y.) and sophomore midfielder Steven DiCarlo (Farmingdale, N.Y.) tallied goals to put FSC ahead, 7-0.

In the second quarter, Wandle assisted on both goals as freshman attack JP Boreshesky (Nesconset, N.Y.) and Stock scored to go up by nine.

The Rams led 11-0 in the third and used a pair of goals from Stock, off the feed from Boreshesky, to take a 13-goal lead into the fourth.

Wandle, James Hickis (Farmingdale, N.Y.), Connor Murtha (Moriches, N.Y.), and Boreshesky each scored in the final 15 minutes as FSC earned the 17-0 victory. Farmingdale State was outshot 8-6 in the fourth quarter but Erler and Rizzuto were able to stop all four shots on goal to clinch the shutout win.

Wandle registered four goals and two assists for a game-high six points. On his second goal of the game he became just the third student-athlete in program history to record 100 career goals. Wandle has totaled 167 total points in his career and is only 19 away from the record of 186 held by Joe Meola.

Stock tallied a game-high four goals, to go along with an assist and two ground balls, while Boreshesky recorded a career-best five points on two goals and three assists.

Gilbride produced two goals and one assist and both Hickis (2g) and DiCarlo (1g, 1a) registered two points apiece.

On the defensive end, Lembo's seven caused turnovers is the most in a single-game since Dylan Bates in 2016. In addition, senior Gino Luchetti (Farmingville, N.Y.) had a caused turnover and six ground balls, freshman Liam McGroarty (Northport, N.Y.) recorded two caused turnovers, John Carnevale (East Meadow, N.Y.) tallied one caused turnover and three GB's, and Tyler Kollar (Bellport, N.Y.) picked up five ground balls.

Junior Antonio Kaminskey (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) mastered face-offs winning 15-of-19 with a game-high nine ground balls.

The men's lacrosse team has returned home and will play host to Sage in a non-conference game on Sunday, March 19th at noon.
