Men's Lacrosse to Scrimmage Molloy on Friday

Farmingdale, N.Y. - As their fall season approaches its end, the Farmingdale State men's lacrosse team is set to play Division II Molloy College in a scrimmage this Friday, October 8th starting at 7:00 p.m. The game will be played on Molloy's home turf, the Rockville Center Sports Complex.

FSC is coming off a 2021 season that ended in the Skyline Conference Championship game. The Rams fell to an undefeated Maritime team, 13-12, in the Conference final. The Molloy Lions qualified for the East Coast Conference tournament in the spring but were eliminated by #2 ranked Roberts Wesleyan College, 19-8, in the first round.

Farmingdale State returns five starters from the spring, including attackmen Jake Wandle (Rocky Point, N.Y.) and Thomas Stock (Selden, N.Y.), midfielder Hunter Lyons (East Islip, N.Y.), defender Gino Luchetti (Farmingville, N.Y.) and goalkeeper Kevin Loonie (Lynbrook, N.Y.).

In 30 career games, Wandle has totaled 89 points, 54 goals and 35 assists, to go along with 150 shots. Stock and Lyons put up 22 and 23 points, respectively, in their freshman campaigns, while Luchetti caused a team-high 14 turnovers in 2021.

Loonie started all nine games last season and ranked fourth in the Skyline Conference for save percentage (.585) and sixth in goals against average (8.33).

The Rams have also brought back Skyline Conference Offensive Player of the Year and Division III All-American, Terrence Haggerty, who has joined the coaching staff for the 2021-22 year.
