- Engelken named Rookie of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the spring weekly report #2 on Monday, March 4th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics. The New Jersey Athletic Conference released their Track, Field and Rookie Athletes of the Week for men's and women's indoor track.

Men's Lacrosse Update (2-1, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

In a pair of non-conference road games last week, the men's lacrosse team fell to Manhattanville, 13-9, before defeating Neumann, 15-10.

Freshman midfielder Peter Engelken (Holtsville, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. Engelken tallied a goal and two ground balls in the loss to Manhattanville and followed with a five-goal performance, including both a man-down and man-up goal, at Neumann. 

This week, Farmingdale State plays two non-conference games: Thursday at SUNY Poly @ 4:00 p.m. and Saturday at Hartwick @ 11:00 a.m.

 

Indoor Track Update

The Farmingdale State indoor track teams competed at both the ECAC Championships and Atlantic Regionals last week.

At the ECAC's, freshman Joshua Green (Shelter Island, N.Y.) placed fifth in the 800m in 2:03.69, while junior Samantha Pollucci (Bay Shore, N.Y.) recorded a sixth place finish in the 60m in 8.08. At the Atlantic Regionals, the 4x200m team of Justin Percival (Melville, N.Y.), Philip Sellitto (Levittown, N.Y.), Joseph Motis (Massapequa, N.Y.) and Denzel Green Wright (Central Islip, N.Y.) earned a second place finish out of 17 schools in 1:30.33. Percival also registered third in the 60m in 6.94.

Percival has qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, Mass. on Friday, March 8th and Saturday, March 9th.

 

Women's Lacrosse Update (0-2, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

FSC fell to non-conference opponent Oneonta, 17-6, in their only game last week.

Junior midfielder Courtney Gendels (Wantagh, N.Y.) was tabbed to the Player of the Week honor roll as she registered a team-high four goals, to go along with two ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers against the Red Dragons.

This week the Rams play two non-conference home games: Tuesday vs. Western Connecticut State @ 3:30 p.m. and Thursday vs. Montclair State @ 5:00 p.m.

 

Baseball Update (0-0, 0-0 Skyline)

After having their season-opening doubleheader versus Keene State cancelled last week, the Farmingdale State baseball team is scheduled to open their 2019 season with a home non-conference doubleheader versus Plattsburgh State on Sunday @ 11:00 a.m.

 

Softball Update (0-0, 0-0 Skyline)

FSC will begin their 2019 season at The Spring Games in Florida on Saturday, March 16th. The Rams will play Ursinus at 9:30 a.m. and Plattsburgh State at 4:30 p.m.

 

Men's Tennis Update (0-0, 0-0 Skyline)

The Farmingdale State men's tennis team will open their spring season on Sunday, March 10th at Manhattanville @ 1:00 p.m.
