- Tuohy named Rookie of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the spring weekly report #9 on Tuesday, April 24th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Women's Lacrosse Update (5-8, 4-1 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The women's lacrosse team picked up a pair of conference victories last week with wins over St. Joseph's-LI (12-10) and Maritime (21-13).

Freshman attack Julia Tuohy (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week, while sophomore midfielder Courtney Gendels (Wantagh, N.Y.) earned a spot on the Honor Roll. Tuohy led the Rams in both points and assists in a 2-0 week. In the win at St. Joe's-LI, she registered a game-high nine points with four goals (on four shots) and five assists. Tuohy followed by breaking the single-game school record for points with 15 (2 G, 13 A) in the win over Maritime. Her 13 assists was the second most in FSC history - only one shy of the record. Gendels scored three times in the win at SJC-LI and followed with career-highs in both goals (7) and points (11) in the victory over Maritime.

This week Farmingdale State will play two games: Tuesday at Mount Saint Vincent @ 4:00 p.m. and Saturday (senior day) vs. Old Westbury @ noon.

 

Baseball Update (20-11, 12-4 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

FSC played five games last week and posted a 3-2 mark, including a sweep of Merchant Marine on Sunday.

Sophomore Joe Marino (Islip Terrace, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll. Marino pitched 2.2 scoreless innings of relief, allowing two hits and striking out two at Lehman. He also started game two at Merchant Marine and earned the win after tossing four shutout innings, giving up two hits and striking out a pair.

The Rams are scheduled to play three games this week: Tuesday vs. William Paterson @ 3:30 p.m. and Saturday (DH) at Mount Saint Mary @ 3:00 p.m.

 

Softball Update (13-15, 9-3 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The softball team was 1-3 last week in a pair of Skyline doubleheaders against St. Joseph's-LI and St. Joseph's-Brkln. This week FSC will play two home doubleheaders: Saturday vs. Mount Saint Mary @ noon and Sunday vs. Sarah Lawrence @ noon.

 

Men's Lacrosse Update (8-7, 2-3 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

In two games last week, the Rams fell to Skidmore (15-7) and Maritime (10-6). This week the men's lacrosse team will play two games: Wednesday at Kean @ 7:00 p.m. and Saturday (senior day) vs. Mount Saint Vincent @ 2:30 p.m. 

 

Men's Tennis Update (4-9, 4-3 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The men's tennis team clinched the #4 seed for the Skyline Conference Playoffs. FSC will travel to #1 Yeshiva for the semifinals with the date and match time TBA. 

 

Men's Golf Update

Farmingdale State finished tied for sixth place last week at the Skidmore College Dr. Tim Brown Invitational held at Ballston Spa Country Club. Junior Jack Truncale (Nesconset, N.Y.) posted rounds of 79 and 76 for a two day total of 155 and a team-best T18 finish.

The Rams have three weeks off before heading to Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C. for the NCAA Division III Championships on May 15-18.

 

Outdoor Track Update - Skyline Full Report

At the Stony Brook Wolfie Invitational last week, the men's outdoor track team took second out of nine teams, while the women finished 12th at the event. The Rams will compete in two meets this week: Thursday and Friday at the Penn Relays @ Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Penn. and Sunday at the Skyline Conference Championship @ Farmingdale State.
