New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the spring weekly report #7 on Monday, April 9th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Baseball Update (13-8, 5-3 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

In a pair of Skyline doubleheaders last week, FSC was 2-2 after splits with both Purchase and Old Westbury.

Senior David Otero Jr. (Shelton, Conn.) was named Skyline Conference Pitcher of the Week. He tossed a complete game shutout, allowing four hits, while striking out four and walking one in the 3-0 game one victory over Old Westbury.

This week the Rams are slated to play five home games: Tuesday vs. TCNJ @ 3:30 p.m., Friday vs. Yeshiva (DH) @ 10:00 a.m. and Sunday vs. St. Joseph's-LI (DH) @ noon.

 

Outdoor Track Update - Skyline Full Report

FSC competed at the TCNJ Invitational in Ewing, N.J. last week. 

Senior Jyaire Ewa (Rochdale, N.Y.) was named Men's Field Athlete of the Week and freshman Marina Magoulas (Central Islip, N.Y.) earned Women's Field Athlete of the Week Honors. Ewa broke his own school record en route to winning the hammer throw with a toss of 55.32m (181' 6"). He now leads the Region and is ranked 10th in the Nation for the hammer. At the meet, Magoulas competed in the hammer (7th/15, 35.36m), discus (13th/27, 28.08m) and shot put (12/26, 8.95m) and ranks fifth, sixth and ninth all-time at FSC in the events, respectively.

This week the outdoor track teams will travel to Stockton College in Galloway, N.J. for the Osprey Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

 

Softball Update (8-12, 4-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The softball team played three DH's last week and swept both New Jersey City and Old Westbury but dropped a pair to The College of Staten Island.

Sophomore pitcher Julia Walpole (Mahopac, N.Y.) and junior shortstop Christina Rayfield (Commack, N.Y.) were each tabbed to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. Walpole was 2-0 on the week with a 1.20 ERA, while Rayfield led the Rams in hits (8), doubles (3), triples (1), runs scored (6), total bases (13), stolen bases (3), slugging percentage (.764), on-base percentage (.526) and assists (14).

Farmingdale State will play six home games this week: Thursday vs. Stockton (DH) @ 3:00 p.m., Saturday vs. Mount Saint Vincent (DH) @ noon and Sunday vs. Purchase (DH) @ noon.

 

Men's Golf Update

The men's golf team placed fourth out of 12 teams at the NYU Spring Invitational held at Forest Hill Field Club in Bloomfield, N.J. last week. Senior Andrew Goldman (Hauppauge, N.Y.) finished tied for eighth individually after posting rounds of 74 and 78.

This week the Rams will compete at the Rosemont Raven Invitational in Downingtown, Penn. on Saturday and Sunday. 

 

Men's Lacrosse Update (6-5, 1-2 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

In their only game last week, FSC fell, 15-11, at Merchant Marine.

Junior goalkeeper Dan Wood (East Meadow, N.Y.) claimed a spot on the Honor Roll after recording 14 saves and posting a .483 save percentage.

This week the men's lacrosse team will play two home games: Tuesday vs. SUNY Delhi @ 4:00 p.m. and Saturday vs. Purchase @ 1:00 p.m.

 

Women's Lacrosse Update (1-8, 0-1 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

Farmingdale State dropped two games last week to Ramapo (14-12) and Merchant Marine (16-7). This week the women's lacrosse team will play a pair of conference road games: Tuesday at Mount Saint Mary @ 7:00 p.m. and Friday at Purchase @ 4:00 p.m.

 

Men's Tennis Update (1-6, 1-2 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The Rams lost 9-0 to non-conference opponent Hunter College in their only match. This week the men's tennis team will play four matches: Tuesday at Lehman College @ 4:30 p.m., Wednesday vs. St. Joseph's-Brooklyn (at USTA Center) @ 7:30 p.m., Friday vs. The College of Staten Island @ 4:30 p.m. and Saturday vs. Purchase @ 11:30 a.m.
