- Mallon named Pitcher of the Week; Collard tabbed Rookie of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the spring weekly report #5 on Monday, March 26th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Baseball Update (10-3, 2-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The baseball team posted a 6-1 record last week capped off with a doubleheader sweep of Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday.

Junior pitcher Ryan Mallon (Deer Park, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Pitcher of the Week. He posted a 4-0 record in as many relief appearances for the Rams, earning two decisions in one-run games and one in a two-run contest. Mallon pitched 6.2 shutout innings of three-hit, four-walk, seven-strikeout baseball.

Junior 1B/OF Ernie Geraci (East Moriches, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after leading FSC in batting average (.545), hits (12), doubles (1), triples (1), RBI (7) and total bases (15). Geraci recorded at least one hit in each of Farmingdale State's seven games last week.

This week the Rams are slated to play four games: Wednesday at Kean @ 3:30 p.m., Thursday home vs. Ramapo at 3:30 p.m. and Friday (doubleheader) at St. Joseph's-Brooklyn (time TBA).

 

Softball Update (2-10, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

Farmingdale State was 2-6 last week with victories over both Centre (23-16) and Middlebury (5-2). 

Freshman outfielder Lexie Collard (Deer Park, N.Y.) earned Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week honors after going 7-for-19 at the plate (.368), scoring seven runs, walking twice and driving in four. In the win against Centre, Collard had three hits, a walk, three runs scored and 3 RBI.

Sophomore 2B/1B Jessica Lombardo (Levittown, N.Y.) was tabbed to the Honor Roll after batting .524 on the week. She was 11-for-21 at the plate with eight runs scored and 9 RBI.

This week the softball team will open Skyline Conference play with a home doubleheader versus Sarah Lawrence on Friday at 3:00 p.m.

 

Men's Lacrosse Update (4-4, 1-1 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The men's lacrosse team fell, 9-7, at Mount Saint Mary in their only game last week. 

Junior midfielder James Ragland (Seaford, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after scoring four second half goals at Mount Saint Mary.

This week the Rams will play a pair of non-conference road games: Wednesday at Western Connecticut State @ 7:00 p.m. and Saturday at Keystone @ 1:00 p.m.

 

Women's Lacrosse Update (0-5, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

Farmingdale State dropped both games of the Spring Fling in Florida to Clarkson (18-2) and Williams (19-5). This week the women's lacrosse team will play two non-conference games: Tuesday at Western Connecticut State @ 5:00 p.m. and Saturday home vs. Kean @ noon.

 

Men's Golf Update

The men's golf team opened the spring season with dual match against Luther College at Orange County National's Panther Lake Golf Course and fell by two strokes (315-313). FSC was led by junior Chris Fischer (Mineola, N.Y.) who fired a team-best round of 76.

The Rams next will travel to Forest Hill Field Club in Bloomfield, N.J. for the NYU Spring Invitational on Saturday, April 7th and Sunday, April 8th.

 

Men's Tennis Update (0-3, 0-1 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The men's tennis team fell, 9-0, at Yeshiva in their spring season opener last week. FSC is scheduled to play three matches this week: Tuesday at Baruch (@ USTA Center) @ 5:00 p.m., Wednesday at Sarah Lawrence @ 6:00 p.m. and Friday home vs. Western Connecticut State @ 1:00 p.m.

 

Outdoor Track Update

The outdoor track teams open the season on April 6th & 7th at the TCNJ Invitational in Ewing, N.J.
