New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the spring weekly report #2 on Monday, March 5th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.
Baseball Update (2-0, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report
The baseball team opened the season with a doubleheader sweep of New Rochelle last week. The Rams earned an 11-0 victory in game one and recorded a 7-2 win in the second game of the DH.
FSC junior third baseman Anthony Gigante (Bedford Hills, N.Y.) and senior pitcher David Otero Jr. (Shelton, Conn.) were each named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. Gigante went 4-for-7 at the plate with a team-high three stolen bases, while Otero Jr. started game one versus CNR and tossed three shutout innings, allowing two hits and striking out six.
This week the Rams will play three games: Wednesday vs. William Paterson @ 3:30 p.m. and Sunday at Staten Island (DH) @ noon.
Men's Lacrosse Update (2-1, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report
Farmingdale State was 1-1 in a pair of non-conference home games last week. The men's lacrosse team fell to Manhattanville (10-6) and rebounded with a win over Neumann (13-3). This week the Rams are slated to play two home games: Tuesday vs. Oneonta @ 3:00 p.m. and Saturday vs. Hartwick @ noon.
Indoor Track Update
The indoor track teams closed out the 2017-18 season at Ithaca College last week for the Atlantic Regional. Senior Jyaire Ewa (Rochdale, N.Y.) claimed the Atlantic Regional Championship in the weight throw as he broke his own school record with a toss of 18.14m (59' 6.25").
Women's Lacrosse Update (0-1, 0-0 Skyline)
The women's lacrosse team had last week off and return to action on Saturday with a home non-conference game against Oneonta @ 2:30 p.m.
Softball Update (0-0, 0-0 Skyline)
FSC opens the season this week with a Skyline doubleheader versus Yeshiva (at Fordham) on Wednesday @ 6:00 p.m.
Men's Tennis Update (0-2, 0-0 Skyline)
The men's tennis team will begin their spring season on Wednesday, March 14th at York (NY) @ 4:00 p.m.
Men's Golf Update
The men's golf team will open their spring season with a dual match against Luther College on Sunday, March 25th at Orange County National's Panther Lake Golf Course in Winter Garden, Florida.
