Skyline Releases Spring Weekly Report #4

- Wieczorek and Rosino named Player's of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Spring weekly report #4 on Monday, March 20th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Pitcher of the Week, Honor Roll and conference statistics.

Men's Lacrosse Update (6-1, 1-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's lacrosse team posted a pair of victories over both SUNY Canton (23-3) and Mount Saint Mary (16-11) in a 2-0 week.

Freshman attack Ryan Wieczorek (West Islip, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Wieczorek led FSC in goals (10) and points (12) last week. He scored a game-high three goals in the win over SUNY Canton and followed with a game-high nine points on seven goals and two assists in the victory against MSMC.

This week Farmingdale State will play two games: Tuesday vs. FDU-Florham @ 4:00 p.m. and Saturday at Purchase @ noon.

Women's Lacrosse Update (3-0, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams were 2-0 last week with wins over Kean (14-11) and Johnson & Wales (RI) (10-9).

Senior midfielder Brittany Rosino (North Babylon, N.Y.) earned Player of the Week honors after recording a team-leading seven goals. She scored four goals, including the game-winner, and had seven draw controls against Kean. Rosino added three goals and caused a game-high five turnovers versus Johnson & Wales (RI).

The women's lacrosse team will play two home games this week: Wednesday vs. Western Connecticut State @ 7:00 p.m. and Saturday vs. Albright @ 2:00 p.m.

Baseball Update (3-6, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

FSC was 1-3 over the final two days of the RussMatt Invitational in Auburndale, Florida. The Rams dropped a pair of games to Fredonia and split a DH against FDU-Florham.

Junior first baseman Christopher Reilly (Levittown, N.Y.) and junior pitcher David Otero Jr. (Shelton, Conn.) were each named to the Honor Roll. Reilly hit .600 (6-for-10) with a home run and 3 RBI, while Otero Jr. took a no decision against Fredonia after tossing five scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out six.

This week Farmingdale State will host Kean (single game) on Thursday @ 3:00 p.m., Merchant Marine (DH) on Saturday @ noon and Mount Saint Mary (DH) on Sunday at noon.

Softball Update (5-7, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The softball team went 2-4 over the final six games with victories over Knox and Albright at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Florida.

Senior first baseman Lori Michalowski (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after batting .360 with four runs batted in.

The Rams will host three doubleheaders this week: Wednesday vs. Lehman at 3:30 p.m., Saturday vs. Sage @ noon and Sunday vs. Old Westbury @ noon.

Men's Golf Update

The men's golf team kicked off the spring season with a 21-stroke victory over Luther College in a dual match at Orange County National's Crooked Cat Course in Winter Garden, Florida. Senior Matt Burnett (Farmingdale, N.Y.) earned medalist honors by shooting an even par round of 72.

FSC next will travel to Downingtown Country Club in Downingtown, Pennsylvania for the Rosemont College Invitational on April 1 & 2.

Men's Tennis Update (1-2, 0-0 Skyline)

The men's tennis team is scheduled to open their spring schedule as they host York (NY) on Friday, March 24th at 4:30 p.m.

Outdoor Track Update

The men's and women's outdoor track team opens the season on Friday, March 31st at the Roadrunner Invitational.
