Skyline Releases 2017 Spring Preseason Coaches Polls

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference has released the preseason coaches polls for the spring sports, including baseball, softball, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse and men's tennis.

 

Baseball

The Farmingdale State baseball team is coming off a 2016 season where they posted a 20-17 overall record and a 12-4 mark in the conference. The Rams hosted the Skyline Conference Baseball Championship and fell, 9-8, to St. Joseph's-LI in the championship game.

FSC kicks off the 2017 season with a home non-conference DH versus Plattsburgh State on Saturday, March 4th.

 

Softball

In 2016, the FSC softball team was 15-18 overall and 12-6 in the conference. The Rams earned the #5 seed for the playoffs and were eliminated with a 5-2 loss to Sage.

The softball team opens 2017 versus Plattsburgh State at the Rebel Games on their annual Spring Trip to Florida on Saturday, March 11th.

 

Men's Lacrosse

The men's lacrosse team was 12-5 last season, including 4-2 in the Skyline Conference. The Rams fell, 10-9, at Stockton in the semifinal round of the playoffs.

Farmingdale State will open 2017 on Saturday, February 25th when they host non-conference opponent Mitchell College.

Farmingdale State is coming off a 2016 campaign where the Rams were 8-10 overall and 6-1 in conference action. The women's lacrosse team entered the playoffs as the #2 seed and fell at top-seeded St. Joe's-LI in the Skyline Finals.

The Rams begin the 2017 season with a home non-conference game against Manhattanville on Saturday, March 4th.

Last year, the men's tennis team posted an 11-6 record (5-2 Skyline). Farmingdale State lost in the Skyline Finals at top-ranked Yeshiva.

FSC will kick off the 2017 spring season with a non-conference road match at Rutgers-Camden on Sunday, March 5th.
