Skyline Releases Spring Weekly Report #7

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Spring weekly report #7 on Monday, April 18th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Pitcher of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Baseball Update (13-12, 8-2 Skyline) - Full Report

The baseball team posted a 4-2 record last week capped off by a doubleheader sweep of Old Westbury. The Rams are currently tied for first place in the Skyline with Maritime.

Sophomore David Otero Jr. (Shelton, Conn.) was named Skyline Conference Pitcher of the Week. Otero's opposing batting average was a microscopic .048 out of the pen for the Rams, as he failed to allow a run over seven innings pitched in four appearances (3-0 record). He allowed just one hit and two walks, while fanning nine.

This week FSC will host Lehman on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m., before traveling to St. Joe's-Brooklyn on Saturday (DH - noon) and Mount Saint Mary on Sunday (DH - noon).

Softball Update (14-12, 12-4 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State was 4-2 in six Skyline Conference games last week.

Senior catcher Meagan Anderson (Patchogue, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after recording a hit in every game, including two hits in five of the six. In the DH at Old Westbury, she was 4-for-6 with three runs scored and 1 RBI. In the DH at St. Joe's-LI, Anderson was 4-for-6 with a double and triple, three runs scored and an RBI and closed the week 3-for-6 with a double and RBI in the DH vs. St. Joe's-Brooklyn. She held a .682 on-base percentage on the week.

This week the softball team will play a pair of doubleheaders: Wednesday at NYU (@ Fordham) at 3:30 p.m. and home for senior day vs. Mount Saint Mary on Saturday at noon.

Men's Lacrosse Update (10-2, 2-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams played two games last week and fell to Vassar (12-8) before earning a 15-3 victory over St. Thomas Aquinas.

Senior midfielder Conor Pittard (Setauket, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. Pittard scored one goal versus Vassar and followed with a game-high four goals in the win over St. Thomas Aquinas.

This week FSC will host Stockton on Wednesday @ 5:00 p.m. and travel to Maritime on Saturday @ 11:00 a.m.

Women's Lacrosse Update (4-8, 3-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's lacrosse team was 1-1 last week with a non-conference loss at Drew (20-9) followed by a 9-6 home win over Maritime.

Junior midfielder Brittany Rosino* (North Babylon, N.Y.) was tabbed to the Honor Roll as she tallied a team-high eight goals in FSC's two games. She posted a career-high 11 draw controls in the loss to Drew, along with scoring five goals and assisting on one other.

This week FSC will play two conference road games: Wednesday at St. Joseph's-LI @ 7:00 p.m. and Saturday at Purchase @ 1:00 p.m.

Men's Tennis Update (8-4, 4-1 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams posted a 1-1 record last week with their win coming at Purchase (7-2) on Saturday.

FSC will play two homes matches this week: Friday vs. Baruch @ 5:00 p.m. and Saturday (senior day) vs. Mount Saint Mary @ 1:00 p.m.

Golf Update

The golf team placed 7th out of 10 teams at the Dr. Tim Brown Invitational hosted by Skidmore College at Ballston Spa Country Club.

Senior Scott Sessions (Pleasantville, N.Y.) recorded a fourth place finish after posting rounds of 75 and 69.

This week the Rams will host the FSC Spring Invitational at the Bethpage State Park - Red Course on Thursday and Friday.

Outdoor Track Update

Last week, the outdoor track teams competed at the Coach Omeltchenko Invitational hosted by Merchant Marine on Sunday.

The Rams posted three wins at the Coach "O" Invitational. Sophomore Jyaire Ewa (North Massapequa, N.Y.) won the shot put (13.65m, 44' 9 1/2"), while sophomore Idowu Bamisile (Brooklyn, N.Y.) took first in the 400m hurdles (55.15). Junior Jovanni Parkinson (Wyandanch, N.Y.) captured the 200m in 21.91.

FSC next will head to Stony Brook University on Saturday, April 23rd for the Wolfie Invitational.
