Rams Cruise in Win Over St. Thomas Aquinas

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's lacrosse team led 8-0 at the break as they earned a 15-3 non-conference win over St. Thomas Aquinas on Friday night. With the victory, the Rams improved to 10-2 on the year.

Within the first 55 seconds of the game, FSC used goals from senior midfielder Conor Pittard (Setauket, N.Y.) and junior attack Tyler Rifice* (Bohemia, N.Y.) to take an early 2-0 lead. Pittard tallied his second goal of the contest with 10:20 left in the first on a man-up score off Mike Curry's (Melville, N.Y.) pass. Nick LeBright (Levittown, N.Y.), Daniel Desimone (Plainview, N.Y.) and Michael Cegielski (Somers, N.Y.) each added first quarter goals as the Rams extended their advantage to 6-0.

In the second quarter, Pittard and senior attack Brad Rapone (Roslyn, N.Y.) recorded scores to give Farmingdale State an 8-0 lead at halftime.

After St. Thomas Aquinas' (0-10) David Pearl (Mahopac, N.Y.) cut the deficit to 8-1 early in the third, the Rams responded with seven unanswered goals to go ahead, 15-1. The Spartans scored the final two goals of the game as the Rams earned the 15-3 victory.

Pittard led all scorers with four goals, while Desimone added two goals and an assist. Cegielski tallied one goal and a game-high three assists and senior midfielder Ryan Corbett* (Plainview, N.Y.) was 7-for-10 on faceoffs and picked up four ground balls for the Rams.

FSC next will play host to Stockton in a Skyline Conference game on Wednesday, April 20th at 5:00 p.m.
