Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's lacrosse team will be traveling to Pennsylvania this fall to participate in the 9th Annual Nicholas Colleluori Classic for the HEADstrong Foundation on Sunday, Oct. 4 at Ridley High School in Folsom, Pa.
The Rams are amongst 8 schools playing in the event, including Catholic, Immaculata, Lycoming, Messiah, Rosemont, Stockton and Wheeling Jesuit.
As part of the participation in the event, the team is accepting donations to the HEADstrong Foundation, which is committed to improving the quality of life for cancer patients and their families through providing essential programs and services. HEADstrong has raised more than $6.6 million in nine years since its founding in 2006, helping to serve 11,563 patients and families affected by cancer. HEADstrong has served more than 8,000 people through HEADtable and 50 families stay at Nick's House, which provides complimentary long-term housing and amenities for those traveling to Philadelphia for cancer-related treatments.

HEADstrong will provide each team with HEADstrong awareness shoe laces and one player will be the recipient of the Nick Colleluori Award, given to a member of the team who is relentless on and off the field, plays with true heart and understands the importance of team.
HEADstrong will offer cancer awareness apparel for sale during the games. Be the Match will be on site conducting a bone marrow drive.
Proceeds from the event will allow HEADstrong to strengthen their commitment to adult and pediatric cancer initiatives in the Long Island, Philadelphia and Baltimore markets. Since its inception, the Colleluori Classic has helped raise more than $1.5 million.
