- Webb & Tedeschi named Pitchers of the Week, Mongiello & Fallon earn Player of the Week honors -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Spring weekly report #9 on Monday, April 27th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Pitcher of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Softball Update (21-12, 10-4 Skyline) - Full Report

The softball team won all three games in the Skyline Playoffs at Mount Saint Mary as they claimed their fifth straight Conference Title and earned the Skyline's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division III Softball Tournament.

Senior pitchers Taylor Webb (West Babylon, N.Y.) and Taylor Tedeschi (Levittown, N.Y.) were named Co-Pitchers of the Week and senior outfielder Michelle Mongiello (Elmont, N.Y.) earned Player of the Week honors.

Webb earned a pair of the wins in the Skyline Championship and allowed just two unearned runs in 12 innings pitched. She tossed a two-hit shutout and fanned five on April 24 in the Rams' 8-0 win over Mount Saint Vincent and yielded two unearned runs on four hits with seven strikeouts on April 25 as FSC edged Mount Saint Mary, 3-2.

Tedeschi tossed an eight-inning shutout on April 26 as Farmingdale State edged Mount Saint Mary, 1-0, and secured its fifth-straight league championship. She scattered eight hits and struck out two while not walking a batter en route to earning her 10th win of the season. Tedeschi was named the Skyline Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season.

Mongiello went 5-for-10 with 5 RBI and a pair of runs scored over three games as Farmingdale State captured its fifth consecutive Skyline crown. She had a double and 2 RBI in the Rams' 8-0 win versus CMSV on April 24. Her 3-run homer on April 25 gave FSC a 3-2 victory over Mount Saint Mary and Mongiello had three hits on April 26 as Farmingdale State edged MSMC in the finals, 1-0 (8-innings). She was also named the Most Outstanding Player of the Championship for her efforts.

This week the Rams will host Hunter in a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. The NCAA Selection Show will take place on Monday, May 4th at 10:00 a.m.

Men's Tennis Update (10-5, 4-2 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State defeated Purchase 5-1 in the Skyline Conference Semifinals but fell, 5-4, to top-seeded Yeshiva in the Championship Game. The Rams finished the 2014-15 season with a 10-5 overall record.

Men's Lacrosse Update (8-7, 3-3 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's lacrosse team split a pair of Skyline games last week - FSC defeated Maritime 12-6 on senior day but fell 9-7 at Stockton in their regular season finale. The Rams clinched the #4 seed heading into this week's playoffs.

Junior goalkeeper Thomas Fallon (Kings Park, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Fallon registered 27 saves and posted a 7.17 goals against average in a 1-1 week for the Rams, who clinched the fourth seed in this week's Skyline Championship. He had 13 saves and a .722 save percentage on April 22 against Maritime and compiled 14 saves on April 25 versus Stockton.

FSC will head to #1 Montclair State on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. for the Skyline Conference Semifinals.

Women's Lacrosse Update (9-6, 6-1 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams were 1-1 in a pair of games last week and have earned the #2 seed for the upcoming playoffs.

Senior midfielder Nicole Marzocca* (North Babylon, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after recording a team-high 10 points on five goals and five assists, while adding seven draw controls.

FSC will host #3 Mount Saint Mary in the semifinals on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.

Baseball Update (15-14, 8-6 Skyline) - Full Report

The baseball team was 2-1 in three games last week. The Rams clinched the #3 seed for the upcoming playoffs which will be held at St. Joseph's College.

Farmingdale State will play two non-conference home games this week before the playoffs begin: Tuesday vs Baruch @ 6:00 p.m. & Wednesday vs. Stevens @ 3:30 p.m. The Rams will face #2 Old Westbury in the first round of the playoffs on Friday at 4:00 p.m.

Men's Golf Update

The men's golf team captured the five-team Farmingdale State Spring Invitational at Bethpage Red last week. Junior Matt Adwar (Holbrook, N.Y.) was the individual medalist with rounds of 77 and 72. He defeated John Melandro of St. Joe's on the first playoff hole.
