- Hunter named Player of the Week for men's tennis -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Spring weekly report #6 on Monday, April 6th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Pitcher of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Men's Tennis Update (4-2, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams posted a 2-1 mark last week in three non-conference matches.

Sophomore Chris Hunter (Melville, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Hunter posted a pair of wins at the No. 1 singles flight and added two victories at No. 1 doubles in a 2-1 week for the Rams. He earned a 6-4, 6-2 decision on Apr. 4 as FSC fell to Oneonta State, 8-1. Hunter notched a 6-2, 6-1 win in singles play and added an 8-0 victory in doubles action on Apr. 1 as the Rams registered a 6-3 victory over Staten Island.

This week Farmingdale State will play four matches: Wednesday vs. CCNY at 4:30 p.m., Friday @ Purchase at 3:30 p.m., Saturday @ Sage at 1:00 p.m. and Sunday vs. Sarah Lawrence at noon.

Men's Golf Update

FSC finished in a tie for fourth place out of 13 teams at the Dowling College Memorial Tournament at Tallgrass Golf Club last week. Senior Rocco Costa (Massapequa, N.Y.) recorded a third place finish with rounds of 71 and 80.

This week the men's golf team will play in two events: Thursday & Friday - Long Island Intercollegiate Championship @ Island Hills Country Club and Saturday & Sunday - NYU/Manhattanville Spring Invitational at Forest Hill Field Club.

Women's Lacrosse Update (4-3, 2-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's lacrosse team was 1-1 in two games last week. Farmingdale State fell, 12-6, to Montclair State and earned a 15-4 win at Old Westbury.

Senior midfielder Christy Thoden* (Bayport, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. Thoden amassed three goals, two assists, three ground balls and 14 draw controls on the week and her 454 career draw controls rank second among active players in Division III.

FSC will play two Skyline Conference games this week: Wednesday vs. St. Joseph's @ 3:30 p.m. and Saturday at Sage @ 1:00 p.m.

Softball Update (8-6, 2-0 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State was 3-1 on the week after a sweep of Sage and a split with Staten Island.

Junior catcher Meagan Anderson (Patchogue, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after batting .538 with four extra-base hits and 7 RBI.

The Rams have three doubleheaders this week: Thursday vs. Rutgers-Newark @ 4:00 p.m., Saturday at Mount Saint Vincent @ noon and Sunday vs. Old Westbury (Senior Day) @ noon.

Baseball Update (6-10, 2-2 Skyline) - Full Report

The baseball team earned 5-1 and 5-4 victories at Keystone in a non-conference doubleheader last week.

This week FSC will play a 9-inning game at Baruch on Thursday @ 3:30 p.m., host Mount Saint Mary on Saturday @ noon and travel to Old Westbury on Sunday @ noon.

Men's Lacrosse Update (6-4, 1-1 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams dropped a pair of games last week to Misericorida (10-5) and Kean (10-6).

This week the men's lacrosse team will host Western Connecticut State in a non-conference game on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
