- Bergmann named Player of the Week, Seelinger tabbed Rookie of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Spring weekly report #10 on Monday, May 5th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Pitcher of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Baseball Update (25-10) - Full Report

The baseball team captured their seventh straight Skyline Conference Championship this past weekend at Old Westbury. The Rams now advance to the NCAA Regionals.

Senior outfielder Edward Bergmann (East Meadow, N.Y.) was named Player of the Week and freshman pitcher Matt Seelinger (Levittown, N.Y.) earned Rookie of the Week honors.

Bergmann had a pair of multi-hit performances and scored six runs in four victories as third-seeded Farmingdale State claimed its seventh straight title. He added three walks and 2 RBI in the four contests. Bergmann was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Championship for his efforts and was tabbed the Skyline Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Seelinger allowed two runs on three hits over six innings on Sunday afternoon to earn the victory in the championship game with a 5-2 win at Old Westbury. He struck out three to improve to 3-0 on the season. Seelinger has allowed just 12 hits in 23.2 innings pitched on the year.

The Rams next will play a single game at Kean on Thursday, May 8th at 3:30 p.m.

Men's Lacrosse Update (8-6) - Full Report

Farmingdale State fell 15-7 at #2 Kean in the Skyline Conference Semifinals on Thursday. The Rams finished the year with an 8-6 record. 

Men's and Women's Outdoor Track

At last weekends NJAC Championships, senior Alix Lamarre (North Bellmore, N.Y.) led the way for the Rams with a second place finish in the long jump 6.80m (22' 3 3/4") and in the triple jump 13.46m (44' 1/2") and took fourth in the high jump 1.83m (6').

The Rams next will head to the ECAC Championships as Lamarre qualified for the long jump and senior Daquan Grant (Copiague, N.Y.) will compete in the triple jump.

Men's Golf Update

The golf team will travel to Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C. for the NCAA Division III Championships on May 13-16.

Softball Update (23-12)

The softball team is headed to Montclair State University for the Montclair Regional beginning on May 9th. Farmingdale State will face top-ranked Montclair State (36-6) in their opening round game. The winner of the double-elimination tournament will advance to the Super Regionals.

Women's Lacrosse Update (18-1)

Farmingdale State received a first round bye and will be heading to Sea Gull Stadium in Salisbury, Maryland for a second round game, facing #2 Salisbury University (18-1) on Saturday, May 10th.

Women's Tennis Update (15-2)

Farmingdale State will travel to host-site Amherst College to face Endicott (14-3) in a first round game on Thursday, May 8th. The winner of that match will play Amherst (18-3) on Friday, May 9th.
