New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Spring weekly report #9 on Monday, April 28th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Pitcher of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Women's Lacrosse Update (18-1, 7-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's lacrosse team defeated St. Joe's, 9-8, capture the Skyline Championship on Saturday and earn a berth into the 2014 NCAA Tournament.

Junior midfielder Nicole Marzocca (North Babylon, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Marzocca had a goal, two assists, two caused turnovers and a pair of draw controls in the Skyline Championship. She amassed two goals, four assists and three groundballs on Apr. 24 in the Rams' 18-0 semifinal win over Mount Saint Vincent. Marzocca was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Championship for her efforts. This is the fourth time she was tabbed the Skyline Player of the Week this season.

Freshman goalkeeper Krista Spagnoletta (West Islip, N.Y.) was named Rookie of the Week. Spagnoletta allowed eight goals while making 10 saves in a pair of victories as Farmingdale State secured its first Skyline title since the 2009 season. She posted a pair of saves in the win over Mount Saint Vincent and registered eight saves in the title match against St. Joseph's. Spagnoletta was named the Skyline Rookie of the Week for the second time.

Farmingdale State will now await word of their opponent during the NCAA Selection Show on Sunday, May 4th at 9:30 p.m. on NCAA.com.

Men's Lacrosse Update (8-5, 4-2 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's lacrosse team had last week off in preparation for the Skyline Conference Semifinals. The third-seeded Rams will head to #2 Kean on Wednesday, April 30th at 7:00 p.m.

Softball Update (23-12, 10-4 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams won all three of their playoff games and captured their fourth consecutive Skyline Title at Sage this past weekend.

Sophomore catcher Meagan Anderson (Patchogue, N.Y.) was named Player of the Week, junior pitcher Taylor Webb (West Babylon, N.Y.) was tabbed Pitcher of the Week and freshman third baseman Andrea Klarman (Medford, N.Y.) earned Rookie of the Week honors.

Anderson batted .667 (8-for-12) with seven runs scored and four RBI while collecting at least two hits in all three of the Rams' victories in the Championship. She had a homer and three runs scored in the 9-3 win over Mount Saint Vincent. Anderson was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Championship for her efforts and was named the Skyline
Player of the Week for the third time this season.

Webb earned a pair of complete game victories as FSC captured its fourth straight Skyline Championship. She tossed a no-hitter and fanned seven on Apr. 27 in the title game as the Rams blanked Sage, 10-0. Webb allowed six hits and struck out six on Apr. 25 as FSC edged Mount Saint Mary in the opening round, 4-3. She boasts a 12-4 overall record on the season.

Klarman collected four hits in 10 at-bats – including three extra-base hits – over three playoff games. She went 2-for-3 with a walk and a pair of home runs in the victory over Mount Saint Vincent and added a double in the title game against Sage. She hit safely in all three contests and was named the Skyline Rookie of the Week for the second time.

The NCAA Selection Show will be on Monday, May 5th at 10:00 a.m. on NCAA.com.

Baseball Update (21-10, 11-5 Skyline) - Full Report

The baseball team was a perfect 3-0 in conference games on the week. The Rams defeated the CMSV 4-2 in a make-up game and used a pair of walk-off singles by Daniel Paccione (Commack, N.Y.) and Michael Marino (Franklin Square, N.Y.) to sweep St. Joe's (6-5, 5-4) on senior day.

Seniors Edward Bergmann (East Meadow, N.Y.) and Chris Dragone (Hicksville, N.Y.) were named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. Bergmann batted a team-leading .545 in a 3-0 week for the Rams. In game one against St. Joe's, he went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and 2 RBI and followed with a 2-for-2 performance with two runs and 2 RBI in the second game of the DH. Dragone earned the win after pitching 7.2 scoreless innings of relief allowing seven hits with four strikeouts and one walk in the 4-2 win at Mount Saint Vincent. He held opponents to a .241 batting average.

Farmingdale State has earned the #3 seed for the upcoming Skyline Conference playoffs and will host #6 Mount Saint Vincent in a single-elimination game on Wednesday, April 30th at 7:00 p.m.

Men's and Women's Outdoor Track

The outdoor track team competed in the Yale Springtime Invitational on Sunday, March 27th at Yale University.

The women were led by sophomore Erin Donovan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) who set personal bests in the high jump (1.50m, 4' 11") and hammer throw (33.61m, 110' 3"). Freshman Stephen Schmidt (Levittown, N.Y.) placed third in the discus (40.98m, 134' 5") and seventh in the hammer throw (35.43m, 116' 3") for the men.

This week Farmingdale State will travel to the NJAC Championships at TCNJ in Ewing, N.J. on May 3rd and May 4th.

Men's Golf Update

The Rams hosted St. Joe's in a dual match at Knollwood Country Club in Elmsford, N.Y. on Friday. FSC was led by senior Adam Larkin's (Bellmore, N.Y.) match-low 74 but fell by four strokes to SJC (308).

The men's golf team next will head to the 2014 NCAA Division III National Championships on May 13-16 at Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C.

Men's Tennis Update (7-6, 4-2 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's tennis team was eliminated from the playoffs after a 5-0 loss at #2 Yeshiva University in the semifinals. The Rams finished the season with a 7-6 overall record.
