Skyline Releases Spring Weekly Report #7

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Spring weekly report #7 on Monday, April 14th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Pitcher of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Baseball Update (16-9, 7-3 Skyline) - Full Report

The baseball team posted a 4-2 mark last week with wins over Baruch, NYU-Poly (2) and Old Westbury.

Junior shortstop Anthony Alvino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Alvino collected 10 hits in 21 at-bats (.476) with 8 RBI and seven runs scored in six games this week for the Rams. He added three triples, three walks and a pair of stolen bases. Alvino had a two-run triple as FSC downed Baruch, 11-4 and went 6-for-9 with five runs scored and 4 RBI in the doubleheader sweep (19-6, 19-8) of NYU-Poly. Alvino recorded two hits and 2 RBI on April 13 as FSC edged Old Westbury, 6-5.

This week the Rams will host TCNJ on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. and travel to Purchase for a doubleheader on Friday at 3:00 p.m.

Softball Update (15-11, 8-4 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams played a pair of conference DH's this past weekend and posted a 3-1 record.

Junior pitcher Taylor Tedeschi (Levittown, N.Y.) was named Skyline Pitcher of the Week. Tedeschi allowed just one run on nine hits over 14 innings pitched while earning complete game victories over NYU-Poly (6-1) and Sage (6-0). She scattered four hits and fanned two for her first shutout of the season on April 12 at Sage. Tedeschi allowed five hits on April 13 versus NYU-Poly as she recorded her sixth win of the season.

Sophomore catcher Meagan Anderson (Patchogue, N.Y.) and freshman third baseman Andrea Klarman (Medford, N.Y.) were each named to the Honor Roll. Anderson batted .467 with six runs scored and tied a program single-season record with 15 doubles on the year, while Klarman went 7-for-12 with three doubles and three runs scored.

The softball team will host Staten Island on Wednesday in a DH at 3:30 p.m. and then host Purchase in a DH for senior day on Saturday at noon.

Women's Lacrosse Update (15-1, 6-0 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State posted a 3-0 record with victories over New Paltz, Old Westbury and Sage last week.

Junior midfielder Christy Thoden (Bayport, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Co-Player of the Week. She led the Rams to three victories as she compiled three goals, eight assists, six ground balls, five caused turnovers and 37 draw controls. Thoden tallied one goal, four assists, three ground balls and a program-record 19 draw controls on April 8 against New Paltz. Thoden recorded a game-high three assists on April 12 versus Sage as she was tabbed the Skyline Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Freshman attack Brittany Rosino (North Babylon, N.Y.) earned Skyline Rookie of the Week honors. Rosino scored five goals and dished out six assists in a 3-0 week for Farmingdale State. She added 10 ground balls, eight draw controls and three caused turnovers, while compiling three goals, five ground balls, a season-high five draw controls and one assist on April 8 against New Paltz. Rosino dished out a team-high three assists in a 12-2 victory against Old Westbury.

This week the women's lacrosse team will travel to St. Joe's on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.

Men's Tennis Update (6-4, 4-2 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State earned a 7-2 conference win at St. Joe's in their only match of the week.

This week the Rams will play a pair of non-conference matches as they host Ramapo on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. and travel to Brooklyn on Saturday at noon.

Men's Lacrosse Update (6-5, 2-2 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's lacrosse team dropped Skyline Conference games against Kean and #11 Montclair State this past week.

Farmingdale State will host Mount Saint Vincent on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. followed by Stockton for senior day on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Men's Golf Update

The Rams posted a 15-stroke victory over St. Joseph's on Friday in a dual match at the Bethpage State Park - Blue Course.

Sophomore Scott Sessions (Pleasantville, N.Y.), junior Matt Pollock (Northport, N.Y.) and senior Rich Kelly (Oceanside, N.Y.) all posted rounds of 73 with Sessions earning medalist honors after a two hole playoff victory.

This week the men's golf team will travel to Island Hills Country Club in Sayville, N.Y. for the Long Island Intercollegiate Championship hosted by St. Joseph's College on Thursday and Friday.

Men's and Women's Outdoor Track

This past weekend Farmingdale State competed at the New Jersey Invitational on the campus of TCNJ.

Senior's Alix Lamarre (North Bellmore, N.Y.) and Daquan Grant (Copiague, N.Y.) qualified for the ECAC Championships in the long jump and triple jump, respectively.

The women were led by freshman Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) who finished in fifth place in the hammer throw (40.29m) and is now #2 on the FSC All-Time List for this event.

The outdoor track teams next will head to the CTC Championships at Richard Stockton on Friday and Saturday.
