Skyline Releases Spring Weekly Report #6

- Fallon and Anderson named Player's of the Week, McArdle and Danzy Rookie's of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Spring weekly report #6 on Monday, April 6th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Pitcher of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Women's Lacrosse Update (12-1, 4-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams defeated Mount Saint Vincent (16-8) and Mount Saint Mary (17-11) en route to a 2-0 record last week.

Junior midfielder Christy Thoden (Bayport, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Player of the Week Honor Roll. She finished with two goals, three assists and eight draw controls at Mount Saint Vincent and then added two goals, one assist, eight ground balls, four draws and five caused turnovers at MSMC.

This week the women's lacrosse team will host New Paltz State on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m., Old Westbury on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. and Sage on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.

Men's Lacrosse Update (6-3, 2-0 Skyline) - Full Report

In their only game last week, the men's lacrosse team earned a 16-4 victory at Mount Saint Mary College.

Sophomore goalie Thomas Fallon (Kings Park, N.Y.) was named Player of the Week and freshman midfielder Ryan McArdle (East Northport, N.Y.) earned Co-Rookie of the Week honors. Fallon recorded 11 saves in just over 55 minutes of action against MSMC and added five ground balls and a caused turnover. McArdle tallied a team-best four goals on four shots – including the game-winner in the opening period – and added an assist and one ground ball.

This week the Rams will travel to Kean on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. and then host Montclair State on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Men's Golf Update

The men's golf team placed second out of 12 teams at the Farmingdale State Spring Invitational at Bethpage State Park - Red Course on April 5th and April 6th.

Sophomore Scott Sessions (Pleasantville, N.Y.) posted a two-day total of 148 (74-74) and finished in third place individually.

Farmingdale State next will host St. Joseph's in a dual match on Friday (April 11) at the Bethpage State Park - Blue Course at 10:00 a.m.

Baseball Update (12-7, 4-3 Skyline) - Full Report

In five games last week, the baseball team posted a 2-3 mark. The Rams swept Yeshiva and lost a pair at Mount Saint Mary in conference action.

Freshman second baseman Andrew Karkota (Manorville, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll. Karkota batted a team-best .636 on the week for the Rams. He was 3-for-3 with two runs and 2 RBI in game one against Yeshiva and 2-for-4 with a run scored in game one at MSMC. He was also a perfect 4-for-4 on stolen base attempts.

This week Farmingdale State will play: @ Hofstra (Wednesday - 3:00 p.m.), vs. Baruch (Thursday - 4:00 p.m.), vs. NYU-Poly (DH - Saturday - 12:00 p.m.) and vs. Old Westbury (DH - Sunday - 12:00 p.m.)

Softball Update (12-10, 5-3 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State was 3-1 last week with a sweep over Old Westbury and a split versus St. Joseph's.

Sophomore catcher Meagan Anderson (Patchogue, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Anderson recorded three hits in all four of Rams' contests on the week from her leadoff position in the batting order. She scored seven runs and added two triples and a double. Anderson scored a pair of runs on April 6 as FSC earned a 7-3 win versus St. Joseph's and added a double,  triple and knocked in three in the Rams' 9-2 victory over Old Westbury on April 5.

Junior pitcher Taylor Webb (West Babylon, N.Y.) and freshman first baseman Lori Michalowski (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) were each named to the Honor Roll. Webb earned two complete game wins with 11 strikeouts in 14 innings pitched, while Michalowski batted .467 with 4 RBI.

This week the softball team will travel to Sage for a DH on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and host NYU-Poly (DH) on Sunday at noon.

Men's Tennis Update (5-4, 3-2 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's tennis team was 2-1 last week after recording wins over NYU-Poly and Purchase.

Freshman Tyler Danzy (Central Islip, N.Y.) was named Co-Rookie of the Week after winning all three of his matches at No. 1 singles. Danzy rallied for a 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 decision on April 5 in the Rams' 6-3 win versus Purchase and earned a 6-1, 6-3 decision on April 3. He added a 9-7 win at No. 1 doubles as FSC posted a 7-2 victory over NYU-Poly and registered a 6-1, 6-0 victory on April 2 as Farmingdale State fell to MSMC, 7-2.

The Rams next will travel to St. Joseph's for a Skyline match on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.

Men's and Women's Outdoor Track

The outdoor track teams traveled to Ramapo College for the Roadrunner Invitational on April 5th & April 6th. 

Senior Alix Lamarre (North Bellmore, N.Y.) won the Long Jump with a leap of 6.44m and freshman Bryan Giordano (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was the runner-up in the pole vault after a personal best 4.0m.

The women were led by sophomore Erin Donovan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) who took eighth place in both the high jump and pole vault.

Farmingdale State next will travel to TCNJ for the New Jersey Invitational on Saturday, April 12th.
