Skyline Releases Spring Weekly Report #5

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Spring weekly report #5 on Monday, March 31st, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Pitcher of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Women's Lacrosse Update (10-1, 2-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams were 3-0 this week with a 13-10 win at Greensboro, a 20-18 win at Guilford and a 13-3 conference win against Maritime.

Junior midfielder Nicole Marzocca (North Babylon, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Player of the Week after compiling 10 goals, seven assists, six ground balls, six draw controls and three caused turnovers. She first posted three goals and three assists at Greensboro, then tallied six goals, including the game-winner, and two assists as FSC edged Guilford. She also had a goal and a pair of assists versus Maritime. Named Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Freshman goalkeeper Krista Spagnoletta (West Islip, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after recording 25 saves in the 3-0 week.

The Rams will travel for two Skyline games this week. They face the College of Mount Saint Vincent on Wednesday, April 2nd at Tibbetts Brook Park at 5:00 p.m., followed by a trip to Newburgh, N.Y. on Saturday, April 5th at Mount Saint Mary College at Noon.

Men's Golf Update

The Rams finished in 2nd place of 14 teams this weekend at the 10th Annual Peter King Memorial Tournament, hosted by Division II Dowling College.

Senior Adam Larkin (Bellmore, N.Y.) finished 7 over-par and tied for 5th individually.

The men's golf team next will host the Farmingdale State Spring Invitational at the Bethpage State Park Red Course on Saturday, April 5th and Sunday, April 6th.

Men's Lacrosse Update (5-3, 1-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's lacrosse team posted a 1-1 record with a 13-2 loss at #20 Wesleyan and a 21-8 win over Maritime in their conference opener.

Junior attack Tom Rotanz (Wading River, N.Y.) and freshman attack Tyler Rifice (Bohemia, N.Y.) were each named to the Player of the Week honor roll. Rotanz finished the week with a team-high 10 points, including five goals and four assists, in a Skyline win at Maritime. Rifice tallied five goals and picked up four ground balls on the week.

Farmingdale State next will play at Mount Saint Mary College on Saturday, April 5th at 2:30 p.m.

Baseball Update (10-4, 2-1 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State fell in their only game last week, 4-1 at the College of Mount Saint Vincent, the second game of the doubleheader was postponed due to rain.

Senior pitcher Chris Dragone (Hicksville, N.Y.) pitched the final three innings, entering the game down 4-0, allowing only one hit while striking out two.

This week the Rams will travel to Ramapo for a single game on Tuesday, April 1st at 3:30 p.m., host Yeshiva in a doubleheader on Friday, April 4th at 10:00 a.m. and travel to Mount Saint Mary on Saturday, April 5th for a doubleheader at Noon.

Men's Tennis Update (3-3, 1-1 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's tennis team went 0-1 last week with a 9-0 loss to Skyline opponent Yeshiva University.

Farmingdale State has four games this week. They host Mount Saint Mary on Wednesday, April 2nd at 5:30 p.m., followed by a trip to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center to face NYU-Poly on Thursday, April 3rd at 3:00 p.m. They wrap up the week at home this weekend with a match against Purchase on Saturday, April 5th at Noon and Staten Island on Sunday, April 6th at 11:00 a.m.

The women's tennis team will also play on Sunday against Staten Island, starting at 2:00 p.m.

Softball Update (9-9, 2-2 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State went 0-2 this week, falling to #3 Montclair State 16-4 and 8-0.

The Rams next will travel to Old Westbury on Saturday, April 5th at Noon and Sunday, April 6th at St. Joseph's at 1:00 p.m.

Men's and Women's Outdoor Track

The team opened the season at the St. Joseph's Invitational, where sophomore Jonathan Gortman (Dix Hills, N.Y.) recorded a runner-up finish in the 110m High Hurdles. The women were led by sophomore Erin Donovan (Farmingdale, N.Y.), who finished 6th in the High Jump. Her mark of 4' 8 1/4" moves her to #7 on the All-Time list.

On Friday, April 4th and Saturday, April 5th, they will compete at the Roadrunner Invitational hosted by Ramapo College in Mahwah, N.J.
