Skyline Releases Spring Weekly Report #3

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Spring weekly report #3 on Monday, March 17th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Pitcher of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Women's Lacrosse Update (6-0, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams were 2-0 on the week with non-conference victories over Western Connecticut State and #15 Oneonta State.

Junior midfielder Christy Thoden (Bayport, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Thoden compiled six goals, one assist, 20 draw controls, nine ground balls and five caused turnovers in a 2-0 week for the Rams. She recorded five goals, eight draw controls and five ground balls against Western Connecticut State and had one goal, one assist, four ground balls, three caused turnovers and 12 draw controls versus Oneonta.

Freshman goalkeeper Krista Spagnoletta (West Islip, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after registering 33 saves in Farmingdale State's two games.

The women's lacrosse team next will travel to Montclair State on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. and then open Skyline play at Purchase on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

 

Men's Tennis Update (2-1, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's tennis team earned a 7-2 win at John Jay in their lone match last week.

Freshman Tyler Danzy (Central Islip, N.Y.) was named Conference Player of the Week. He notched a 6-1, 6-0 win at the No. 1 singles flight and earned an 8-2 victory at the No. 1 doubles position.

Sophomore Kevin Palacios (Glen Cove, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after a 6-2, 6-4 win in #2 singles an 8-2 victory at #2 doubles.

Farmingdale State next will host Hunter on Friday at 4:30 p.m. and Sage on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

 

Baseball Update (8-3, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

Last week the baseball team posted a 3-2 mark in five games. Their top win consisted of a 2-1 victory over #10 Marietta at the Snowbird Classic in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Farmingdale State had three players named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. Junior shortstop Anthony Alvino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) batted .583 with 6 RBI over five games, while sophomore pitcher Kevin Cashman (Hicksville, N.Y.) hurled 4.2 scoreless innings in Farmingdale State's win over Marietta. Freshman outfielder PJ Harrington (Deer Park, N.Y.) batted .444 with 4 RBI over three games.

The Rams next will open conference play as they host Maritime on Saturday at noon.

 

Softball Update (5-5, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The softball team posted a 5-5 mark at the NTC Games in Clermont, Florida.

Freshman 3B/P Andrea Klarman (Medford, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. She collected nine hits in 23 at-bats (.391) with 6 RBI and six runs scored over eight starts. Klarman added a pair of walks, a double and a home run. She yielded just two runs on four hits over nine innings pitched. She allowed two runs (one earned) and struck out three on March 13th as she went the distance in the Rams' 7-2 win over Becker.

Sophomore catcher Meagan Anderson (Patchogue, N.Y.) and junior pitcher Taylor Webb (West Babylon, N.Y.) were each named to the Honor Roll. Anderson batted .448 with eight runs scored and 7 RBI over nine contests, while Webb went 3-1 with 32 strikeouts in four starts.

This week the Rams will play three doubleheaders: Wednesday @ Brooklyn (4:00 p.m.), Saturday vs. Mount Saint Mary (12:00 p.m.) and Sunday vs. Mount Saint Vincent (12:00 p.m.).

 

Men's Lacrosse Update (2-2, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State posted a 12-7 non-conference victory over Hartwick in their only game last week.

Freshman attack Tyler Rifice (Bohemia, N.Y.) was named Co-Rookie of the Week after scoring a game-high five goals on eight shots and adding one assist vs. Hartwick. He added three ground balls and a caused turnover in the win.

This week the men's lacrosse team will travel to Manhattanville on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., before hosting Misericordia on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

 

Men's Golf Update

The Rams will head to Orange County National Golf Club for their annual spring trip on Thursday. They will face Luther College in a dual match on Monday, March 24th on Crooked Cat Golf Course.
