New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Spring weekly report #2 on Monday, March 10th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Pitcher of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Women's Lacrosse Update (3-0, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams picked up two more wins this week, a 16-5 win over Marywood and a 20-3 victory at Manhattanville.

Junior midfielder Nicole Marzocca (North Babylon, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after leading the team with 12 points. She tied her career-high six goals and also added one assist in the win over Marywood, then tied her career-high of five assists at Manhattanville.

Freshman attack Brittany Rosino (North Babylon, N.Y.) made the Honor Roll list after topping the rookie starters with three goals and two assists. She posted a career-high four points in the win over M'ville with two goals and two assists.

This week the women's lacrosse team will travel to Western Connecticut on Wednesday, March 12th at 4:00 p.m. and then host a game against Oneonta State on Saturday, March 15th at 3:00 p.m.

 

Men's Lacrosse Update (1-2, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's lacrosse team traveled to North Carolina for their spring trip this week, but fell 12-5 to Guilford College on Wednesday afternoon. Due to snow in NC, their game on Saturday against Greensboro was cancelled.

Farmingdale State next will host Hartwick on Saturday, March 15th at 1:00 p.m.

 

Baseball Update (4-1, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State opened the season with a 6-1 win against Merchant Marine on March 5th, followed by a 3-1 weekend at home.

The Rams first defeated Brockport State 9-8 on Saturday with a walk off RBI sacrifice fly by Ryan Levine (West Babylon, N.Y.). After falling to Eastern Connecticut 11-2 on Saturday night, Farmingdale State held Plattsburgh to just three runs in a doubleheader sweep, winning 12-3 and 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.

Senior outfielder Edward Bergmann (East Meadow, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Bergmann batted a team-leading .533 in a 4-1 week for the Rams. He was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and a run scored versus Merchant Marine and went 4-for-5 with two runs and 2 RBI against Brockport. Bergmann was a perfect 5-for-5 on stolen bases this week.

Senior pitcher Michael Dolce (St. James, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll. He threw four shutout innings allowing one hit and striking out four against Merchant Marine and then earned the win over Plattsburgh (game one) after allowing one earned run in five innings of work. Dolce held opponents to a .200 batting average in his two starts.

This week the Rams will host William Paterson on Tuesday, March 11th at 3:00 p.m., before leaving for their spring trip in Florida on Thursday.

 

Men's Tennis Update (1-1, 0-0 Skyline)

The tennis team opened the spring season on Sunday, March 9th at Sarah Lawrence and came home with a 9-0 victory.

Farmingdale State next will face John Jay in a road non-conference match on Saturday, March 15th at 1:00 p.m.

 

Softball Update (0-0, 0-0 Skyline)

The softball team arrived in Florida yesterday and will be playing at the NTC Games in Clermont, Florida from Monday, March 10th - Saturday, March 15th. For the complete game schedule and to follow any available live stats during the week, click HERE.
