Skyline Releases Spring Weekly Report #5

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Spring weekly report #5 on Monday, April 1st, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Pitcher of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Men's Lacrosse Update (5-4, 2-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's lacrosse team was 2-0 last week with a 17-4 conference win over Stockton and a 10-7 win over Briarcliffe.

Freshman Thomas Fallon (Kings Park, N.Y.) picked up Rookie of the Week honors after going 2-0 in two starts and 117 minutes played. He finished with a 5.11 GAA and allowed just 10 goals. Making 17 saves total, he finished with a .630 save percentage for the week.

Senior midfielder Bobby Thomas (Wantagh, N.Y.) was named the Player of the Week. Thomas broke the school record with 13 points (seven goals, six assists) in the Rams 17-4 conference win over Stockton. The previous record of 11 points in a game had stood since 2003. 

This week, the team hosts Wesleyan University on Wednesday, April 3rd at 4:00 p.m. and Mount Saint Mary in a Skyline game on Saturday, April 6th at 1:00 p.m.

Softball Update (8-10, 3-1 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State posted a 2-2 record this past week with splits against Hunter College and Brooklyn College.

Freshman catcher Meagan Anderson (Patchogue, N.Y.) was named Rookie of the Week after hitting a team-high .588 in a team-high 17 at-bats. She also recorded team-highs for hits (10), runs scored (6), triples (2) and total bases (15) to finish with an .882 slugging percentage and .588 on-base percentage. Anderson currently leads the team with a .441 batting average this season.

The Rams have three games at home this week: Baruch on Thursday, April 4th at 3:30 p.m., NYU-Poly on Saturday, April 6th at Noon and Sage on Sunday, April 7th at Noon.

Women's Lacrosse Update (7-2, 5-0 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State was 2-0 this week with conference wins over Mount Saint Vincent and Purchase.

Sophomore midfielder Christy Thoden (Bayport, N.Y.) led the Rams with four goals and nine assists. Against CMSV, she scored a game-high three goals along with one assist, five draw controls, five ground balls and caused eight turnovers. Against Purchase, she tallied a career-high eight assists, four ground balls, four caused turnovers and 10 draw controls.

The Rams now host Kean on Tuesday, April 2nd at 4:00 p.m. and St. Joseph's on Sunday, April 7th at Noon.

Baseball Update (10-9, 3-1 Skyline) - Full Report

The baseball team defeated Baruch 6-1 in their lone game this past week.

Junior pitcher James Powers (Jamesport, N.Y.) was named a Pitcher of the Week, as he improved to 4-2 on the year after throwing seven scoreless innings, allowing one hit and just one walk while striking out seven.

The Rams host Mount Saint Mary on Saturday, April 6th at Noon and will travel to face Maritime on Sunday, April 7th at 11:00 a.m.

Men's Tennis Update (3-0, 1-0 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State will resume action this week, with home scrimmages against Nassau CC (April 2nd) and Suffolk CC (April 3rd), before hosting Brooklyn College on Saturday, April 6th at 1:00 p.m.
