Thomas Breaks School Record in Win over Stockton

Farmingdale, N.Y. - Senior midfielder Bobby Thomas (Wantagh, N.Y.) scored seven goals and six assists for a school record of 13 points in last night's 17-4 conference win over Stockton in Galloway, N.J. The Rams improved to 4-4 overall, 2-0 in the Skyline.

Thomas had two assists in the first period as Farmingdale State went up 3-1. In the second, the Rams saw two goals and an assist from Thomas and increased the lead to 7-3 at the halftime break.

In the third, the Rams shutout Stockton and scored seven goals, including three from Thomas and two assists. The final stanza was controlled by Farmingdale State 3-1, with two goals from Thomas and an assist, which gave him a single-game total of 13 points. Thomas' career-high totals broke the former school record of 11 points in a game, set in 2003 by Matt Lott with 11 goals and 0 assists.

Freshman goalkeeper Thomas Fallon (Kings Park, N.Y.) made 12 saves for the Rams, who evened their record at 4-4 overall with the victory. Sophomore midfielder Mike Strebel (Northport, N.Y.) tallied three goals, while freshman attack Matthew Visintin (Yonkers, N.Y.) finished with two goals.

For Stockton, sophomore goalkeeper Anthony Montalbano (Matawan, N.J.) made 14 saves in defeat, while sophomore Eugene Isola (Monroe Township, N.J.) won 15-of-25 faceoffs for the Ospreys.

Farmingdale State will now host Briarcliffe College on Saturday, March 30th at 3:00 p.m.
