- McCarthy named Rookie of the week for baseball -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Spring weekly report #1 on Monday, March 4th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Pitcher of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Baseball Update (3-6, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

In this past weekends Spring Classic, the Rams posted a 2-2 mark with wins over Keene State and RPI.

Freshman first baseman Dalton McCarthy (Manorville, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. McCarthy hit .370 (10-for-27) over eight contests with 6 RBI and four runs scored. He had four extra-base hits, including a pair of triples, walked four times and stole two bases. McCarthy registered three-hit performances against both Gwynedd-Mercy (Feb. 23) and SUNY Canton (Feb. 25).

Pitchers Michael Dolce (St. James, N.Y.) and Cameron Kitt (Commack, N.Y.) were each named to the Skyline Honor Roll. Dolce was 1-0 in three appearances with a 0.00 ERA and 11 K's. In the 2-1 win over Keene State, he allowed four hits, had seven strikeouts and no walks over 6.1 innings of work. Kitt appeared in three games and had nine K's, zero earned runs and allowed four hits over 7.1 innings pitched. He earned the win vs SUNY Canton after pitching 4.2 scoreless innings, allowing only two hits and striking out eight.

This weekend the baseball team will host Brockport State on Saturday, March 9th at 1:00 p.m. and Plattsburgh State on Sunday at noon in the SUNYAC-Skyline Challange.

 

Men's Lacrosse Update (0-2, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's lacrosse team fell 16-6 in their home opener to Plattsburgh State last week. Freshman goalkeeper Thomas Fallon (Kings Park, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Honor Roll after registering 27 saves in matches versus Scranton and Plattsburgh State.

This week the Rams travel to Hartwick for a non-conference game on Saturday, March 9th at 1:00 p.m.

 

Women's Lacrosse Update (0-0) - Full Report

The women's lacrosse team kicks off the season with a home game against non-conference opponent Manhattanville on Saturday, March 9th at 1:00 p.m.

 

Softball Update (0-0)

The Rams start the 2013 season with a home doubleheader against New Paltz on Saturday, March 9th at 1:00 p.m. Farmingdale State will then host Staten Island in a pair of games on Sunday at noon before heading to Florida for their spring trip.

 

Men's Tennis Update (0-0)

The men's tennis team will host Sarah Lawrence in their season opener on Saturday, March 9th at 1:00 p.m.
