- Phelan named Pitcher of the Week for baseball, Rapone named Rookie of the Week for men's lacrosse and Shand named Player of the Week for women's lacrosse -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the spring report for the 2011-12 season on Monday, April 23, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for baseball, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, softball, and men's tennis.

Baseball Update - Full Report

The Farmingdale State baseball team swept St. Joe's in a conference doubleheader to clinch the No. 1 seed for the Skyline Tournament. The Rams will be hosting the Skyline Tournament this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Senior Chris Phelan (Patchogue, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Pitcher of the Week. Phelan improved to 6-1 on the year as he threw a complete game allowing zero earned runs against St. Joe's. Phelan allowed seven hits and had six strikeouts in the victory.

Men's Lacrosse Update - Full Report

The Rams picked up a pair of conference victories last week with wins over Mount Saint Vincent and Maritime. Farmingdale State enters the playoffs as the No. 3 seed and will travel to No. 2 Kean for the semifinals on Wednesday, April 25th at 7:00 p.m.

Freshman attack Brad Rapone (Roslyn Heights, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. Rapone scored three goals and had one assist vs. Mount Saint Vincent then added a goal and two assists against Maritime in a 2-0 week for Rams.

Junior midfielder Bobby Thomas (Wantagh, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll. Thomas scored a team-high six goals and added three assists for nine points this week. He scored four goals and picked up four ground balls in the win over Mount Saint Vincent. Thomas added two scores, three assists and four ground balls versus Maritime.

Women's Lacrosse Update - Full Report

The women's lacrosse team defeated Mount Saint Vincent and Sage this week to cap off a perfect 8-0 record in the conference. The Rams clinched the No. 1 seed and home field advantage for the Skyline Tournament. Farmingdale State will host No. 4 Kean on Wednesday, April 25th at 4:00 p.m.

Senior attack Krystin Shand (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Shand led the Rams with a team-high 26 points in a 2-0 week. Against MSV, she scored seven goals and added five assists and four ground balls. Shand set a school-record with 14 assists in Farmingdale State's 20-0 win over Sage

Softball Update - Full Report

The softball team enters the playoffs as the No. 3 seed and will travel to No. 2 Sage on Wednesday, April 25th at 4:00 p.m.

Freshman OF/1B Michelle Mongiello (Elmont, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll. Mongiello batted .429 on the week with six hits in 14 at bats. She had three doubles and 5 RBI on the week.

Men's Tennis Update - Full Report

The Rams closed out the regular season with a 3-1 week, including Skyline wins over Purchase and Yeshiva. Farmingdale State enters the playoffs as the No. 2 seed and will host Mount Saint Mary in the semifinals on Thursday, April 26th at 5:00 p.m.

Junior Ryan Musalo (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll. Musalo was 3-1 at #3 singles, including a pair of key league wins and was 2-2 in doubles.
