Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's lacrosse fell to non-conference opponent Molloy College, 13-5, this afternoon in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams dropped to 3-4 on the season, while Molloy improved to a perfect 6-0.

Molloy took the early lead, scoring the games opening goal two minutes into the contest. Farmingdale State senior midfielder Mike Maxwell (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon) would answer with an unassisted goal only 40 seconds later, evening the score at 1-1. The Lions went on to score the next eight goals and held a 9-1 lead midway through the third. The Rams would cut the deficit to six, on goals by freshman attacks Bill McGarvey (Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) and Erick Thomson (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park); however, Molloy would pull away and go on to win 13-5.

The Lions were led by junior midfielder Matt Dolan (Plainedge, N.Y./Plainedge) who scored a game-high four goals and had five ground balls. Senior midfielder Keith Galante (Plainedge, N.Y./Plainedge) scored twice and picked up six ground balls for Molloy. Senior defenseman Mike Delena (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) led the team forcing three turnovers.

Thomson led Farmingdale State offensively scoring two goals, while Eddie Rifice (Babylon, N.Y./Babylon), Maxwell and McGarvey each scored one. Freshman defender Chris JapNgie (Massapequa, N.Y./Holy Trinity) led the Rams recording a team-high six ground balls.

Senior goalkeeper Teddy Leone (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow) had eight saves and freshman goalkeeper Patrick Delventhal (Westbury, N.Y./Holy Trinity) had ten for Farmingdale State. Senior Robert Humann (Hicksville, N.Y./Hicksville) had 12 saves in goal for the Lions.

The Rams will play their first Skyline Conference game of the season when they host Montclair State on Saturday, March 28th at 1:00pm.
