Siemsen Named Skyline Rookie of the Year

midfielder Pete Siemsen (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon) earned
Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year and Second Team All-Skyline
honors, while sophomore attack Erick Thomson (Floral Park,
N.Y./Floral Park) was named First Team All-Skyline and junior
attack Wes Hubschmitt (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) and junior midfielder
Rob Nosworthy (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) were both named to the
Second Team.
Siemsen, who earned Skyline Rookie of the Week honors on two
occasions, has recorded 20 goals and a team-high 45 assists for 65
points in 17 games. He ranked second in the conference in total
assists and fourth in points and was the top-ranked freshman in
both categories. The only freshman to earn a spot on one of the two
all-conference teams, Siemsen recorded at least one assist in all
but one game this season. He also recorded a season-high seven
assists in a game on March 23 against Connecticut College. Siemsen
ranks 5th in the Nation among all of Division III players with 2.65
assists per game.
Thomson, now a two-time All-Skyline player, finished with a team-high 52 goals and 22 assists for 74 points. He led the conference with both 4.35 points per game and 3.06 goals per game, was 8th with 1.29 assists per game. Thomson also scored a team-high eight man-up goals this season. Nationally, he is currently ranked 13th for goals per game and 20th for points per game.
Hubschmitt, a first-time Second Team selection, has posted a team-high 74 points, including 42 assists and 30 goals, along with a team-high .492 shot percentage. He scored a point in all but one game this season, and recorded a season-high nine points on April 3rd against Penn-State Abington. He stands in 7th nationally with 2.47 assists per game and 20th with 4.35 points per game.
Nosworthy, another Second Team selection, scored 30 goals and 19
assists in his first year with the Rams, including four man-up
goals. He is 7th in the conference for both points per game (3.27)
and goals per game (2.00). Nosworthy scored a season-high five
goals and three assists to help his team to a 14-12 win over
Maritime.
