Montclair, N.J. - The No. 18 ranked Montclair State men's lacrosse scored late in the third period and three more in the fourth to take a 12-8 Skyline Conference victory over Farmingdale State on Wednesday night on Sprague Field.

Freshman Pete Siemsen (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon) had two goals and three assists for the Rams, who had a five-game win streak snapped with the loss. The Rams are now 10-4 overall, 3-1 in the Skyline. For the Red Hawks, junior attack Robert Sinicola (North Caldwell, N.J./West Essex) scored three goals and added two assists while senior Taylor Bonner (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge) netted three goals as Montclair improved to 9-3 overall this season, 2-0 in the Skyline and won their 13th straight regular-season conference victory.

Montclair State led 5-2 after one period and 8-4 at halftime before the Rams closed that gap to a goal in the third period. Siemsen scored the first 2:03 into the period and then fed Jimmy Owsinski (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) at the 7:55 mark, pulling Farmingdale to within 8-6. Just over two minutes later, Erick Thomson (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park) scored from the right side of the cage as the Rams came within one, 8-7, with 4:38 remaining in the period.

MSU quickly moved the ball down the field inside 10 yards where Sinicola found Kloss in front of the cage. Kloss took the pass with his back turned to the net and sent home a blind back-handed shot with 1:15 to go as Montclair led 9-7 after three periods.

The play sparked MSU as they scored the first three goals in the fourth. Kloss started it off 66 seconds in as took a shot from 15 yards out for his second goal and a 10-7 Red Hawks lead. Sinicola then set up Matthew Prongay (Edison, N.J./Edison) on a man-up goal with 10:01 left and Bonner's third tally with 7:18 to go put Montclair in front 12-7.

The Red Hawk defense held the Rams just five shots over the final 15 minutes while also killing off two man-advantage opportunities by Farmingdale. Siemsen got the final goal with 14 seconds left for the 12-8 final.

Tyler Meth (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) finished with two goals for Montclair with Bonner collecting a team-high nine ground balls along with a pair of caused turnovers.
