Third Period Propels Camels past Rams

Hempstead, N.Y. - The Connecticut College men's lacrosse
team defeated Farmingdale State (5-3) today, 16-10, in a
non-conference game played at Hofstra's James M. Shuart Stadium.
After trailing 6-5 at the half, the Camels (5-0) came out to score
six third period goals to take a 11-7 lead and would add five more
in the final period.
For Connecticut College, junior attack Ryan Hayes (Darien,
Conn./Kimball Union Acad.) scored four goals and two assists,
including the eventual game-winner with 0.5 seconds remaining in
the third period. Freshman midfielder Stephen Eicher (Northport,
N.Y./Kings Park) scored three goals and one assist, while junior
midfielder Mark Mangano (Basking Ridge, N.J./Morristown-Beard) had
a goal and a team-high four assists. Sophomore midfielder Chuck
Czerkawski (Cohasset, Mass./Cohasset) was 20-for-25 on faceoffs
with a game-high 15 ground balls.
For the Rams, freshman attack Pete Siemsen (West Babylon, N.Y./West
Babylon) recorded a career and game-high seven assists. Sophomore
midfielder Jimmy Owsinski (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) and
sophomore attack Erick Thomson (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park) each
had three goals, while junior attack Rob Nosworthy (Massapequa,
N.Y./Massapequa) added two goals and three assists.
Sophomore goalkeeper Rob Moccia (Malverne, Pa./Great Valley) had
eight saves for the win, while sophomore goalkeeper Patrick
Delventhal (Westbury, N.Y./Holy Trinity) made 13 saves in
defeat.
Farmingdale State will now travel to face Mount Saint Mary College
on Saturday, March 27th for a 1:00 p.m. game.
