Cody, Maxwell and Weil Join Coaching Staff at Farmingdale State
- Rams Open Season on February 27th -
Farmingdale, N.Y. - Head Coach Tim Tuttle is
pleased to announce that Greg Cody and two former players, Mike
Maxwell and Tom Weil, have joined the coaching staff for the
men’s lacrosse team at Farmingdale State.
Cody, a native of Levittown, N.Y., played at Division Avenue High
School, where he earned All-County honors in his senior year at his
defensive position. After earning a scholarship to attend C.W.
Post, Greg became a 1st Team All-American defenseman in 1993. He
continue on as an assistant coach at C.W. Post, recruiting for the
Division II program and working with the defense. Coach Tuttle
stated - "I've known Greg for a long time and I can't tell you how
excited I am to have him join our staff. Greg is a tireless
recruiter who has already helped us bring in some quality players.
He will be our defensive coordinator along with his recruiting
duties."
Maxwell, a West Babylon, N.Y. native, was added to the staff as a
volunteer assistant coach for 2010 and he will be working primarily
with our midfielders. Mike played three seasons at NYIT and only
one year for the Rams, but in doing so made 2nd Team All-Conference
in 2009. His biggest game was against Maritime where he scored six
goals on seven shots, helping the Rams to a 14-12 victory. "Mike
was a tough player who would give all he had each and every day,
our current players will benefit from his playing experience and
work ethic," said Coach Tuttle.
Weil, from St. James, N.Y. and a Connetquot graduate, will also be
a volunteer assistant coach for the 2010 season. Weil played two
seasons with the Rams after transferring from Division II Pfeiffer
College in North Carolina. Tom earned a spot on the second midfield
and was Farmingdale’s #1 clearing midfielder. Tom will be
working with the goalies and the face-off midfielders.
The Rams open up their 2010 season on Saturday, February 27th at
1:00 p.m. vs. Hartwick College.
