Rams Defeat Stockton, Move into Third Place

Farmingdale, NY - The Farmingdale State men's lacrosse team improved to 6-7, 4-2 in the Knickerbocker with a 13-9 victory over Richard Stockton (6-6, 3-3 Knickerbocker) on Saturday afternoon in Farmingdale, NY. Stockton jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first before sophomore attacker Gianluca Carrabs (Glen Cove, NY/Glen Cove) got the Rams on the board with 3:15 left in the quarter to cut the deficit to 3-1. Stockton scored three more in the beginning of the second period, before Farmingdale sophomore Dennis Forgit (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) got a rally started with five minutes left in the second. The Rams scored nine straight goals over the next 26 minutes of play and held a 10-6 lead with nine minutes remaining in the game. Carrabs tallied five assists and one goal over the nine-goal spurt.

Junior goalkeeper Kevin Winters (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) came off the bench early in the first and made 19 saves for Farmingdale State. Junior midfielder Ryan LaFlare (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) and senior midfielder Matt Ramacca (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) both finished with three goals. Freshman defender Chris Caine (Levittown, NY/MacArthur) held down the defense with four caused turnovers and two ground balls. Sophomore midfielder Joe Gritser (Bethpage, NY/Bethpage) led the team with seven ground balls and was 12-of-23 in faceoffs.

The Rams host Kings Point on Wednesday, April 19th for another Knickerbocker Lacrosse Conference game at 4:30pm.
