HOBOKEN, N.J. – (Story by Stevens SID, Brian Granata) Sophomore attack J.R. Oreskovich (La Costa, Calif.) poured in five goals on 10 shots and added a pair of assists as the 14th-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team rolled to a 24-7 victory over Farmingdale State University on Saturday evening at DeBaun Field in Hoboken, N.J. The Ducks improved to 8-2, 6-0 in the Knickerbocker with their fifth win in a row, while the Rams fell to 5-7 and now stand at 3-2 in the Knickerbocker.

Oreskovich ignited a nine-goal barrage in the opening quarter as he scored off a feed from junior midfielder Joe Van Sickle (Amherst, N.H.) just 62 seconds into the game. Freshman attack Eric Smith (Oswego, N.Y.) followed with his 10th goal of the year with just under 12 minutes remaining in the period. Freshman midfielder Matt Keating (Chatham, N.J.) sandwiched a pair of goals around a tally by junior midfielder Mark Bielicky (Bridgewater, N.J.) as Stevens extended its lead to 5-0 in the opening seven minutes of the game.
Bielicky scored two more times in the first quarter as the Ducks grabbed a 9-2 lead heading in the second stanza. Oreskovich connected on an unassisted goal a mere 25 seconds in the quarter as Stevens continued to pull away. Keating picked up his third goal of the game to stake the Ducks to an 11-2 lead with 13:19 remaining in the half. Following a goal by Rams' sophomore attack Jeremy Goohs (Merrick, N.Y.) at the 10:00 mark, Stevens scored five straight times to take a 16-3 lead at intermission.
The Ducks built their lead to 21-4 after three quarters by out-scoring Farmingdale 5-1 in the third. Junior midfielder Matt Althauser (Bellevue, Wash.) tallied an unassisted goal just 57 seconds into the period.
Keating finished the game with four goals and two assists to go along with three ground balls. Bielicky added four goals. Sophomore attack John Dolny (Mountain Lakes, N.J.), freshman attack Andrew Richards (Beaverton, Ore.) and Van Sickle had two goals apiece. Sophomore attack/midfielder Frank Sorrentino (Englewood Cliffs, N.J.) posted a team-high five ground balls. Sophomore defender Nick Daniello (Cross River, N.Y.) was 10-for-17 in faceoff opportunities. Senior midfielder Evan Swiker (Philadelphia, Pa.) won nine faceoffs in the game.
Junior goalkeeper Jack Dunderdale (Ridgefield, Conn.) picked up the win by making eight saves in 30 minutes of action. Dunderdale improved to 7-2 on the year.
Farmingdale was led by Goohs, who had three goals in the loss. Junior midfielder Patrick Eustache (Queens, N.Y.) finished with three goals and two ground balls for the Rams. Sophomore midfielder Joe Gritser (Bethpage, N.Y.) collected six ground balls and was 11-for-28 in faceoff opportunities.
Sophomore goalkeeper Chris Hargrove (Farmingdale, N.Y.) took the loss as he surrendered 16 goals while making seven saves in 30 minutes of playing time.
The Ducks owned a 64-34 advantage in shots during the game. Stevens was 3-for-6 in extra-man opportunities and converted on 19 of 22 clear attempts. The Ducks also grabbed 57 ground balls to just 33 by the Rams.
Stevens will be in action on Wednesday when it travels to Centenary College. The opening faceoff is slated for 4 p.m.
