Seven Goals by Goohs Leads Rams over Maritime

Farmingdale, NY – The Farmingdale State men's lacrosse team improved to 5-6, 3-1 in the Knickerbocker with a 15-8 victory over Maritime College (2-6, 1-3) today in Farmingdale, NY. The Rams trailed 6-1 before scoring 14 consecutive goals in the final three periods to hold a 15-6 lead with 8:27 remaining in the game. Junior attack Jeremy Goohs (Merrick, NY/Calhoun) finished with seven goals, including the eventual game-winner with 13:54 left in the third period on an extra-man opportunity. Junior goalie Chris Hardgrove (Farmingdale, NY/Farmingdale) made nine saves for the victory.

Sophomore attack Gianluca Carrabs (Glen Cove, NY/Glen Cove) tallied four assists and one goal for Farmingdale State, while freshman attack Kevin Sharkey (Bellmore, NY/Mepham) tallied three assists and one goal. Junior midfielder Ryan LaFlare (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) added three goals, the first two to start up the Rams scoring burst.

Maritime's freshman goalkeeper Joseph Fasano (Bethpage, NY/Bethpage) tallied 21 saves. Senior attack Kevin Swift (New Market, MD/Linganore) scored three goals and had two assists for the Privateers.

Farmingdale State travels to Stevens for another Knickerbocker game on Saturday, April 8th at 7:00pm.
