Rams Defeat St. Joe's-LI; Earn Seventh Straight Win

Patchogue, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's basketball team traveled to St. Joseph's-Long Island for a Skyline Conference game on Wednesday evening and earned a 71-60 victory. The Rams recorded their seventh straight win and improved to 15-7 overall and 11-2 in conference play.

Tied 22-22, the Rams used back-to-back baskets by senior forward Dominique Senat (Elmont, N.Y.) to take a four-point lead. After two straight SJC-LI (12-8, 8-5) scores evened the game at 26-26, a Senat layup and free-throw put the Rams back on top, 29-26, with 1:29 remaining.

Farmingdale State closed the first half with an Aaron Davis (Valley Stream, N.Y.) 3-pointer and took a 34-30 advantage into the break.

Senat led the way for the Rams with 11 first half points, while sophomore center Spencer Malloy (Commack, N.Y.) had 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting for the Golden Eagles.

St. Joe's-LI cut the deficit to 36-35 early in the second half before a 15-2 FSC run put the Rams out in front 51-37 with 13:36 left to play.

After an Alec Tabada (North Babylon, N.Y.) 3 pulled the Golden Eagles within six with 4:16 remaining, Farmingdale State recorded nine free-throws to close out the game en route to the 71-60 road victory.

Senat had a double-double with game-highs in both scoring (19 points) and rebounds (10), while sophomore guard Nick Hurowitz (Mount Sinai, N.Y.) scored 13 points. Freshman guard Jevon Santos (Elmont, N.Y.) dished out a game-high eight assists in the win for FSC.

Malloy scored a team-high 12 points, had six boards and three assists for St. Joe's-LI.

Farmingdale State next will host Skyline opponent Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday, February 12th at 2:00 p.m. for Senior Day.
