Graham Named Met Basketball Writers Player of the Week

New York, N.Y. - Farmingdale State senior guard Matthew Graham (Valley Stream, N.Y.) has been named the Met Basketball Writers Division II/III Co-Player of the Week. Graham shares the Division II/III honor with Baruch senior forward Andre Harris (Melville, N.Y.), while Rickey McGill (Spring Valley, N.Y.) of Iona was tabbed the Division I Player of the Week.

Graham, who was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Skyline Conference Championship, averaged 23 points on 66.7% shooting (18-of-27) from the field, to go along with 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in the playoffs last week. Graham notched 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting in the 104-68 semifinal win over Purchase, then led the way with 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting, along with seven rebounds and five assists, in an 81-75 championship game triumph over Yeshiva.

The Farmingdale State men's basketball team has earned the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament and will travel to play the University of Rochester in the First Round on Friday, March 1st at 7:30 p.m.
